We love this place. It’s not far from my mum and dad’s house so we are here regularly when we are back in Manchester. Excellent cask selection with a chalkboard list. Never had anything other than superbly conditioned beer here. It’s a really cosy place where you can almost always find a seat and a real regulars pub. The staff and locals are friendly and generally very knowledgable and you can often hear lots of geeky beer talk. Picked up loads of scoops here and the list changes constantly. If you are in Manchester it’s well worth the 15 minute journey on the train and it’s only a 5 minute walk down the hill from the station. A must visit.

Quite often call in here on the way back from Manchester trips as it’s on the way back home on the train. Best ale pub in Stockport by some stretch in my opinion. The selection is very good, they make sure there’s always a mild on and they also support their local brewers well. Always busy in the evenings and they’ve sometimes had live bands playing outside in the courtyard during the Summer months.
