| christoph (10), littleton, Colorado | | May 5, 2012 One of the best bars in denver with out a doubt great tap selection even better bottle/blue menu bottle list. Food is good pub food seems to be cooked fresh staff seems to know their beer for the most part chris is getting better at being social it seems. They get some of the rarer kegs in colorado and some of the best bottles especially from shelton. if in denver you must visit falling rock you must! | | bootsjohn (13), Texas | | April 16, 2012 One of Denver’s best beer spots, which is saying quite a bit given Denver’s great craft beer scene. User bmerz put it well: the servers are stiff until you prove your worth to them, at which point they will treat you as an equal and will make sure you feel welcome. Great selection and atmosphere. I love how the ’tenders are quick to recommend local brews, which is yet another testament to Denver’s beer scene. I stop here every time I visit Denver. | | bmerz (61), New York | | February 28, 2012 Worthy as a beer destination. It just feels like a bar for and by beer snobs...and the staff certainly act that way. They get a point on the service for being gruff and challenging you to know your shit. Take it or leave it. I kind of like that. The selection is can’t be faulted. | | Steve_0 (38), Denver, Colorado | | February 26, 2012 [ Updated May 6, 2012 ] Laid back taphouse with a chill vibe. This place has a very large selection, but it doesn’t sacrifice quality for quantity. They have some very unique selections and get some of the rarest beers in the country (PtY). This place is a must for any craft beer lover and a place I frequent quite often. | | Grundlepaste (10), , | | February 25, 2012 Denver staple for over 15 years. Been going for 10 of them and counting. My main place when I go to Denver. | | Strebs (76), St. Louis, Missouri | | February 5, 2012 [ Updated February 7, 2012 ] I really enjoyed the laid back vibe and friendly service at Falling Rock. The selection included some real gems and the food was satisfying. I’m looking forward to my next visit to Denver, partially because of the beer culture. | | rivertranced (13), Denver, Colorado | | January 31, 2012 One of my favorite places in the US to drink beer, and certainly my favorite of the huge, pack-the-taps-in type of places like the Gingerman and Flying Saucer type joints.
I’m fortunate to live less than 5 minutes away by bike. I’m impressed with their substantial selection of beers on tap, and even larger selection of bottles available. They have great special tappings, and if you go around beer fest time they’ll have a huge selection of featured taps, including Avery and Shorts last year. I always wondered why Avery brought such a weak selection to GABF...I guess it’s because they bring their A-game to the Falling Rock instead.
Service is questionable depending on how busy it is, and often the wait staff don’t know their beer all that well. But I’ve always found the bartenders to be super knowledgable...so sit up there!
Be sure to check out their hop vines while there. | | BOLTZ7555 (56), Phoenix, Arizona | | January 1, 2012 Had an opportunity to hit this one prior to GABF...I know, probably not the smartest decision but had some Russian River brews so perhaps it was meant to be. Great tap selection, lively conversations happening, friendly staff excited for the event. Similar to Papago in terms of decor and selection. Unfortunately, the large crowds dimished what was available. Really good beer bar! | | LSUPT (10), Louisiana | | November 22, 2011 Recent trip to Denver/Fort Collins. Typical bar atmosphere with some cool beer decor. Great service. We were there during the daytime but the bartender was extremely attentive, helpful, and sweet as could be. Great selection. Several Wet hopped beers, Pliny, other RR and tons of great Colorado beers that I didn’t see on tap anywhere else. Average food. Great value though, she served us half pints which was aweesome because we were able to try more than we would normal and the total was much lower than I though it would be. World class bar here, unassuming but great. | | douglas88 (117), Salt Lake City, Utah | | November 18, 2011 Visited during GABF week. Obviously, way too busy. But the tap list was amazing; loads from Shorts, New Belgium, etc. A great selection and I think the staff did the best they could. If I lived near there I would visit a lot. |
