Really pricey for the quality of food! charged us for a refill for my daughters coke!! Beer was good to drink, but it gave all of the adults diarrhea. Brother in law said it was too much yeast. Onion rings were really good, try those for sure. We will eat here next time in town, but not drink.

very large place. Nice patio on the side and back deck with great veiws. They had some nice guest taps. The food was good. Large bar. I was a little disappointed in their selction when I was there. They were out of the Kolsch although it was advertised everywhere and they ran out of the Spring Tonic when I was there. The waiter didn’t tell me it was on cask. I had to find that out on my own. Their carry out selection was poor. The two liquor stores I went too had more than they did. This was the weekend before Memorial Day(prime season) so I would have expected bettery preperation. Beers were good but I was a little disappointed with my visit.

Great beer selection, with a decent selection of southwest cuisine and good homemade pizza. I particularly enjoyed their big hoppy ales. The Conductor IPA was my favorite but I enjoyed most of the beers I had. Not the best brewery I have ever been to but it was pleasent suprise. I was in Durango for 3 days and I stopped by twice! The deck was beautiful in the late summer.

Sep 06: Granted, I was already pretty lit by the time I got here for dinner, but I was underimpressed with the ’bored" servers and the boring food offerings. This place went "industrial" in a town where it just doesn’t fit; Steamworks offers up some darn good beers, especially their big hoppy varities, along with some good SW food offerings. But overall, I’d go to Carver over this place next time.

Steamworks has a comfortable industrial look. The service was about average, but the bartender readily awnserede questions when he was’nt busy. The beer selection was awesome with about 12 beers on tap. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. If you’re in Durango it’s worth checking out.

Steamworks has been a favorite brewery of mine in my pre-RateBeer days, though I continue to visit and have now been there about a dozen times. They are located a few blocks up the hill from the main touristy street of Durango (within walking distance of both Carver and Lady Falconburgh’s) located inside a building which was used by a different but now extinct microbrewery in the early 90’s, I believe. Inside has a few restaurant seating rooms with a large bar area across from the brewing room... a looooong bar with a tone of seating. They usually have a wide assortment of taps, with generally one cask offering, the IPA or ESB when I’ve visited. Many times I’ll be camping up near Purgatory and I’ll bring up a growler of Steamworks Third Eye P.A. to drink at camp every night... I have nothing bad to say about them - they are not a world class brewery, but what they do make is quite good.
