4 reviews for Connecticut Beverage Mart- New Britain
| elihapa (62), Honolulu, California | | March 11, 2009 Located conveniently right off route 9, this CT Bev has an expansive selection of both American and Imports. Rarities include: De Proef Signature, JW Lees Harvest 2005 on sale, Old Dubh 18, NE Stout Trouper, all the "big" beers brewed in NE (except Hooker’s special line), and a good amount of Smutty.
Sorry that sounds random -- I am doing it from the top of my head -- but this place does have quite a selection. My objection: there is little rhyme or reason to what they do or don’t bring in. You might find just one beer from a micro line (for instance there is a lone Hitachino Espresso Stout), then a whole lineup from another random one (Fort Collins). Go and see for yourself, I promise there will be something for you! | bobaidan (3), Farmington, Connecticut does not count - explanation | | February 10, 2009 Excellent selection in every style. Prices are not bad either and most everything is available as a single for sampling.
If you’re in the area give them a visit you;ll surely find something making it worth the trip. | fredandboboflo (4), East Setauket, New York does not count - explanation | | August 3, 2008 So I must admit, I helped compose the rating below, but I am a second individual, so I can rate it too, eh? Seeing as I have very little to add to the rating below, I will say that I’m surprised this place has escaped attention on here until now because it is as far as I’ve seen the second best beer store in the Greater Hartford Area. No active members from my old stomping grounds? | | LilBeerDoctor (29), East Setauket, New York | | July 29, 2008 I added this place! It’s the best CBM, with the best selection. VERY good pricing too, compared to other stores in the area. One row each of domestic and import brews and a seasonal rack. Also lots of random sales, most of which are pretty legit (I picked up some 2006 Bigfoot a couple months ago, also Southampton 750s that improve with age were also on sale). Pretty good selection. For domestics: Allagash (including the special releases), Southern Tier, Rogue, Avery, Ommegang, lots of local and some regional beers. For imports: Rochefort, Achel, McChouffe, Schlenkerla, JW Lees, De Ranke, and more. Excellent case selection too (probably in the best in CT). Check it out!! |
