| mithe (10), , Czech Republic | | May 16, 2012 Huge outdoor area in summer, but still very crowded. Average looking interior. Even not full selection of Starobrno beers. Above average prices. | | YULbier (209), Brno, Czech Republic | | October 21, 2011 I was apprehending my visit in Starobrno since their bland "lezaks" leave me indifferent, to say the least. I was actually quite surprised to find on the blackboard a "special" 13 kvasnicove. I ordered a half pint just in case, but surprise, it was pretty tasty : malty, yeasty and hoppy enough. Enjoyed on a picnic table on a sunny day on their huge terrasse, i truely enjoyed the moment. Maybe not worth a detour, but can be I nice pit-stop before hopping on a bus in direction of U Richarda, since Starobrno is situated right in front of the Mendlovo Namesti bus station. | | gnoff (200), Göteborg, Sweden | | May 31, 2009 Visited in mid May 2009. Fair amount of the Starobrno beers on tap, also some from Heineken owned breweries. Not too much people. Didn’t eat. Large outdoor seating, though we took place inside. Fairly nice service. Watch your head when going downstairs to the toilets. | | nate2g (320), Marlborough, New Zealand | | November 29, 2008 All the standard beers available but as previously mentioned the Drak was nowhere to be seen. Outdoor area was completely full and very noisy when I was there and was happy to move on after sampling the brews. | | pivnizub (379), Bochum, Porúří, Germany | | August 8, 2008 Quite modern, polished brewery-tap close to the Mendel-Museum with a large patio in front off the building, heading to the nasty bus-stations. In summer 2008 the neither the unfiltered Starobrno nor the Black Drak were available..... Not a must! | | Gazza (153), Worcester, England | | September 17, 2006 This is located in the old brewery buildings at the top (north) end of the square just up from the trolleybus stops – it’s the big brewery tower shaped thing in case you were wondering. Has a huge outside patio and plain but cosy inside rooms with the bar being covered by a huge copper kettle lid and dispensing unfiltered Kvasnicové (“yeasty”) beer alongside other testbrews and the standard beers, including the rarer “Drak” bottled beers. The food looked very good too and the waiters are very efficient. |
