A very small place, where we had a tasting - RBESG. The staff didn’t know how to serve 13 different beers and food to 50 hungry and thirsty rateberians, it was a bit too slow, but they fighted and that give extra points..... The Food was good. I don’t know what beers they usual serve.

A small place, in 3 small rooms with a small bar. Stone floor and wall and light wooden furniture - quite basic. But for the RBESG they had brought in 13 different kegs of seldom beer, and as I understand it they have a ever rotation selection on their 2 tap lines, which makes it a must visit if in Plzen. The tenders really did a good job tending to us, though the two tap lines and lively beer made their job difficult. We had some tasty Czech food.

I can only echo other people’s opinion. Hard to rate because we were there on a special occasion and I’m not sure that they’re used to handling 40 people at once at such speed. Ok ambiance, I’d visit it again. Ok food, bit oddly served. The selection was very interesting but I really don’t know if it’s usually like that. Still, quite a few rare beers were to be found there.

Nice stone and brick place not far from the city center. Few beer or wine halls, interesting bar made of wood, bricks and lots of green bottles. Good food, slow service and 40 thirsty Ratebeerians... waiting for the beers...

Hats off to this place, who were willing to service 13 beers from tap to 40 thirsty Ratebeerians during RBESG 2008. Then hats on again, as they actually didn’t do a very good job. Slow service, not keeping track of the beers. Their servicelevel was not bad, just think they wondered what all this rating was. Food was acceptable, but slow again.

First visited the day before our tasting, they then had 2 beers on tap. At our tsting they were revolving kegs, but I guess they didn’t have much experience of this sort of thing. Food was OK, service was good though a bit slow with the keg changing. Nice enough place though.

Hard to rate since we were there for a special ratebeer reserved tasting. Service was very friendly, but slow since they didn’t quite have the logistics figured out to serve 40 people at the speed we ticker whores prefer. Good selection of rare beers, although not the best I’ve had.

Quite an interesting selection of czech micros, especially for a wine-tavern, but not all the unfiltered brews seem to be fresh............... Good, hearty meals, worth a stop before You jump into the Koutland.

A couple of blocks east of Koutland, it’s a nice enough place to eat dinner, but honestly the food seemed a little made up to be semi-gourmet rather than true Czech dishes. Still, the meal was quite good, and the unfiltered Klaster 12 was a joy to have as well. Might as well include this for a quick drink if you’re doing Koutland in the western part of Plzen, but perhaps you could find better food elsewhere?

We arrived as they were opening for the day and they seemed surprised that we walked in, sat down, and asked for some Klaster 12. Very easy to find and well presented. The barmaid saw me hunting for some nice Klaster beer mats for my collection and presented me with some new ones from behind the small bar since the ones on the tables were well worn. The wine list form Bohemia is extensive. They had some mead as well but I wasnt up to it so early in the day. A nice place.
