Small beer shop with a fair selection of Czech beers. Friendly service. Ok place I guess.

For the walk up the hill to Klasterni Pivovar Strahov this beer shop is certainly worth a couple minutes of your time. Honestly I wasn’t really interested in bottled Czech beer, I mean I’m here because I want the stuff as fresh as possible, and combine that with my Czech/Slavik not being so great, I didn’t find anything on my travel lists that scored that high. I was hoping to find a couple of Baltic porters but that seemed difficult. Nonetheless, the selection is definitely good, but prices are above average due to proximity to the tourist areas on the western side of the Charles Bridge.

I tricked the wife off the main street( she was determined to get to the castle early before the crowds) to get a strategically placed ice cream cone from the store next to this little hole in the wall. It is basically an arched hallway with well presented shelves full of above average beers in both .3L and .5L bottles. I scored a few beauties. The on duty cashier also presented some harder to find glasses for me and I scored a few nice openers as well. I was quite satisfied with both the prices and selection.

I stopped by just because I was not far away, I had a bunch of new beers to bring home, but nothing exceptional.

Pretty poor selection from the fact that it is called "beer shop". Good thing might be that it is opened daily.

(September 2006) Small shop with very friendly and helpful owner. Smaller selection than Pivni Galerie but they sometimes have beers not available at Pivni Galerie. Well worth a visit!
(October 2007) My second visit to this shop. Now there are much more rare beers on offer than last year, even some which I didn’t find at Pivni Galerie nor in Pivovarsky Klub. Well worth a visit.

A small beer shop on the castle-side of twon. Ok, but small selection. The service is pleasant, I showed her my printout from ratebeer, and she helped me to find them of the shelves.

A small shop just a few steps from "Karluv most" with english-speaking staff; the selection is far less interesting than in the original "Pivni galerie" in Holesovice, but when You are looking especially for czech strong beers, You’ll find some pretty samples (e.g. Schwarzenberg 21°, Pardubicky Porter). All in all worth a visit when You are in the MAla Strana quarter........

Quite small place with czech beers only. I liked it and the guy weorking was really nice. Guess you can find nmostof the beers worth drinking in here. Just watch out for thir lousy plastic bags!!! The handle cant stand much. The first time I managed to save my beers, the second time three dark czerch lagers were wasted at the Ladvi Metro-station...
