After a long walk , Nove Mesto - Staropramen - Bejzment - and climbing Petřinske Sady, (while others half the age as mine cheated with bigwheeled segways, that’s doping) luckily I managed to find the right spot west of two-three other restaurants. Tourist trap, so don’t be late. Six taps, Svaty Norbert, tasty stuff and good for any ratebeerian. For a svetlepivchik, selection is tiny.

A top class brewpub, for certain. Efficient and friendly service with perfect English spoken. You’ll probably want to reserve seats. There is the brewery room with the big bar, and a few tables. The place to be in the winter, but very hot in the summer. The big cellar restaurant is nice and cool in the summer, and has a lot more space in the winter. Plenty of outdoor seating in the summer. I have eaten here several times and always had excellent food. The beers are out of this world. The three standard beers are all 4+ ratings if you can deal with beer that isn’t barrel aged 12% stouts. Same for the rotating seasonals.

I suppose it’s very tourist-minded and it’s expensive for Prague, but Strahov is the place I long for when planning my next trip to Prague.

On top of a hill with the Strahov Monastary. A bit of a hike, but if you are doing the whole tourist thing, it’s not too far out of the way from the Prague Castle. Solid house beers offered on tap and in bottle, nice beer garden, a bit touristy and busy. Staff was friendly enough. Decent prices.

Fairly large hall which was half full when I entered. They had couple of interesting and quite good seasonal beers on tap. Both amber and IPA were good and smoked porter even better. Worth visiting.

Located on top of the famous hill every tourist in Prague bravely climbs to see all the treasures of the capital, this venue actually consists of a restaurant and a brewpub, the beer being available in both. Wooden benches and tables, cozy interior. The selection includes five Svatý Norbert taps - all of them featuring very decent beer - and some few bottles, also of own produce. The staff are very friendly and ready to offer advice regarding the beer they sell. Delicious food. I had a pot of their spicy stew and just devoured it as if I had not had anything to eat for a month. Pricey for the country, but the quality and the location justify it. Will gladly be back again one day.
