| downender (63), Bristol, England | | October 7, 2008 Visited on 24/09/08. The pale and a dark lagers were excellent, the best sampled on my trip to Prague. The service was efficient and the food very enjoyable - I really enjoyed the rabbit with spatzle. The place was packed and the prices were cheap - in terms of value for money, this was the best place in Prague. An excellent place to visit. | | KyotoLefty (81), Kyoto, Japan | | September 21, 2008 Visited in Oct. 2006.
Great selection of their own beers, and being able to have different ones that you don’t see much in C.R. was refreshing. Some of the flavored ones I could skip, though. We had a good meal and enjoyed many of their beers. A must-go place in Prague.
| | Svesse (26), Hässelby, Sweden | | September 7, 2008 Very nice and friendly brewpub, fairly centrally located. They had 7 or 8 of their own draught beers, the normal beers are excellent (especially the Svetle) and the not so normal beers (cherry, banana, nettle) are more interesting than excellent. Service was friendly and efficient (but I’m not sure all of them knew a lot about beer). Food is quite nice. The place wouldn’t suffer from some air conditioning. Quite crowded at both our visits, but somehow they managed to squeeze us in. Very nice place, a must visit in Prague. | hopduivel (8), Naperville, Illinois does not count | | September 4, 2008 8 beers on tap, a lot for a Czech brewpub. The pale lager was quite good, the wheat beer was average, various fruit/spice beers were OK (even the nettle beer) though not really my thing. The special was an American IPA! (More of an American pale ale, but good and hoppy nevertheless.) Excellent food. Service is no worse than Czech average. But in 2 visits it was stiflingly hot both times, even on a cool day in August there’s no ventilation or air circulation at all. | | Todeon (10), Höllviken, Sweden | | September 2, 2008 Great draft selection with plenty of wierd ones. Tried the nettle and blueberry beer, interesting but not more than that. Pretty warm and bad air in there. Service was OK the lady was really friendly but the guys who handled the beer wasnt especially chatty (not to surprising though). | | thewolf (99), Kolding, Denmark | | July 15, 2008 This was a funny place. Really what a brewpub should be like - experimenting brews, good service and lots of patrons. Service was swift and she had no problem with English. A bit warm inside though, we were glad we arrived in the late evening. | | ekstedt (39), Göteborg, Sweden | | July 9, 2008 Very nice brewpub in central Prague with 8 homebrews on tap, some of them experimental and changing. Very quick and friendly service. They need to install some kind of air conditioning though, at least ceiling fans. It was very hot at my visit and no aerial circulation at all. Standard Czech cuisine, but well made with a modern touch. | dEM1972 (2), , Illinois does not count | | July 6, 2008 Excellent selection of beers ranging from ’normal’ beers to in-house brewed flavoured beers currently there is a quite acceptable in-house brewed Stout on offer. Whilst in Prague this is one of the many places to visit. | | ChristianScheffel (40), Odense, Denmark | | July 4, 2008 Visiting between the lunch and the dinner rush, I fast and friendly service, and having a big window to the open fermenters is a nice touch. Whether or not you like nettle beer, 8 taps is good for a Czech brewpub, and brewpubs offering sample trays should always get extra credit with us ratebeerians. It left me sober enough to try two interesting bottled beers too. | | Grovlam (39), Copenhagen, Denmark | | July 1, 2008 Quit amazing place with 8 different taps and the possibility to have an 8 sample tasting. Food was very nice and quit cheep compared to the other overprized places in Prague. Staff was very friendly and helpful with the best service in town. It is a must when in Prague and do try the food as well! | View Page : 1 2 3 4 5
