88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 OlaDunk (15) , Czech Republic | May 14, 2013 Several visits 2012/2013. Great hospoda, great service, great selection (6 rotating taps, all from interesting breweries, "Stepan" is the house light lager, quite nice, and more than plenty bottled) and not bad at all food. Smoke free. Pricey for Praha, but that’s only relevant for 3rd world patrons ;) This is a must visit in Praha. | 72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 TheCametron (20) , Czech Republic | February 7, 2013 I loved this pub initially as a tourist but now that I live here, I see it as a bit of a bump. Price wise that is. It’s a lovely place. Particularly downstairs. But the price of beers can be a bit offputting and confusing. They have flat rates for styles so you see Rochefort 10 alongside Rochefort 6 both at 150 crowns. Which is too much for either of them. You’ll find them elsewhere in PRague for 72 and 60 crowns respectively. The food is very good indeed. Beer themed and tasty as fuck. I’d say the primary interest for me lies in the tap rotation. You get some good gear and it’s in good condition. The bottle selection is also good (if at times, pricey) with a few gems in it’s ranks. This is a great pub with a lot in it’s favour. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 rsilvane (10) , Spain | December 20, 2012 Great beer selection on bottle and draught. I don´t try the food. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 GODiSSOUTHERN (20) Virginia | August 16, 2012 Awesome spot. Great basement environment with their own brews and some classic czech food to go with it. Also a decent selection for vegetarians too. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 Blasphemer (4) , Germany | June 24, 2012 Angeblich Tschechiens längste Bierkarte. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 brugmanneke (36) , Germany | June 17, 2012 Two-storey pub and bottle shop with a modern interieur. On the (smaller and well-lit) ground floor, there are bar stools and matching tables, a bar with six taps and walls covered with shelves full of bottled beers that you can drink there or take away. Selection is large and includes Czech and international beers. The downstairs area has normal tables and is a little darker. We enjoyed that the whole venue is non-smoking. Food menu includes several dishes prepared with beer. Staff was friendly, attentive and welcoming. Definitely worth a detour. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 colinize (6) Dallas, Texas | June 7, 2012 Really enjoyed this place. Fantastic selection with some good ambiance. Food was well priced and tasty too - if you like Czech pub food, that is! Try their house beers. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 troubles (122) Tel Aviv, Israel | May 19, 2012 Visited July/11. The place looks amazing, with tons of bottles decorating the walls and shelf held by empty beer barrels. bottles selection is very good, taps are fine. They also sell beer as take away. highly recommended. | 66 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 TBone (188) Pori, Finland | May 2, 2012 One of the top places in Czech to try different micros. Also sells bottles out. Wide range of Czech beers. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 10/20 ElDesmadre (45) Mikołów, Poland | April 30, 2012| Updated November 28, 2012 Second visit Nov. 2012. Heavy atmosphere though don’t know exactly why. Tap selection not really impressive. Visited in May 2011. It’s impossible not to be astounded by their bottle selection. The foreign beers are very pricy but hey - as a tourist in the Czech Republic you want to focus on the local beers. And those are not expensive. They didn’t have all available what was in the menu but the waitress didn’t need to look it up and knew straightaway which ones of the couple hundreds they had and which they didn’t - which I found rather impressive. The cellar is quite cozy, thumbs up for the rotating taps. A very nice place. |
