rakkasan (6), Bresso, Italy does not count - explanation | | November 7, 2009 Yes it was very trendy and touristy.......but the beer is good and the soup wasn’t bad either. | | Skinnyviking (63), Copenhagen, Denmark | | August 2, 2009 Dark high wooden panels and furniture. People crammed and very close together in the front room. Space enough in the side room. Pleased to be away from the noisy front room where there even was a harmonika player. Was lured into drinking some kind liqour. Not the worst I had in that place. Guess it was vodka. Service was quick albeit a bit indifferent. Did not eat there as the noise from the front room was very annoying. | | cab (14), , Denmark | | July 30, 2009 Very nice place, and the one and only beer is the same. | capoccetta (3), roma, Italy does not count - explanation | | July 6, 2009 beer is good but the service sometime is not the same. | | fata2683 (23), Panama City, Florida | | March 17, 2009 came in here just for the beer. It was good, as was the service. Atmosphere is beer hall orriented. Beer was reasonable, but slightly higher than other places. | | gunnar (28), Sandnes, Norway | | February 12, 2009 Go there, taste one of the worlds greatest beers, leave!
| | Dorqui (43), Brescia, Italy | | February 10, 2009 Premises indeed much detail, I had never visited a pub of this type before today. The premises is divided in large rooms with long tables where a neighbor is sit all together. The served beer was a single one when I visited U Fleku but for this the place cannot be said of low level. All other. The atmosphere has been only to the presence of old phisarmonic and bugle musician all the present ones that sang and laughed. Impeccable service with cordial staff even if sometimes a lot insistent. Huge. | | Glouglouburp (214), Montreal, Quebec | | January 29, 2009 Supposed to be the oldest brewpub (continuously brewing) on the planet. HUGE place, ENORMOUS. Very touristy, was there one local in this huge place? Annoying musicians playing from table to table for tourists. Felt like a German Oktoberfest. In what country am I again? Very very loud place filled with annoying tourists. They have only one beer, a tmavy. At least the beer is good. Good but pricy, maybe the most pricey beer I found in the country. The one-size bock is 0.4L, not even a pint! What the hell? I’m drinking lagers in Czech Republic, I want a pint dammit!!! Service is impersonal staff under pressure to sell you stuff you don’t want (shooters, etc.). Worst service ever. The one beer is good but I despised everything else about this place. | | nate2g (151), Brisbane, Australia | | December 26, 2008 I visited here in August and I have mixed feelings about the place. I was rushed into the front seating area which was just a large drinking hall. Was very very busy as expected from the few tour buses out front. I was happy to try the beer but just as happy to leave. Perhaps would be enjoyable with a large group. Definitely check it out for the house beer if nothing else. | | Borresteijn (52), Amsterdam, Netherlands | | November 28, 2008 I think I’ll have to visit this place again sometime in summer. Beautiful building from the outside, big wooden hall on the inside but no decoration whatsoever. It appeared to me as if a lot of areas of the building were closed. It started off quiet when we arrived at 5 or so, but quickly became packed after working hours. Very good house beer, had 4 pints and still wanted more. Service is very quick, they don’t ask but just get you a beer (I told my girlfriend to take a good look at that ;-) . They also try to shove you some Becherovka, pretend it’s free but you pay double the beerprice for it. But hey, we’re tourists having a good time, and Becherovka is a nice bitter herbal liquor. I enjoyed it, food was OK, accordeon music sucks bigtime as always but contributes to the atmosphere. Worth a visit just for the beer. |
