| Fin (97), Merton, England | | November 24, 2009 Visited here both in September 09 and then last month on 22-10-09 and 23-10-09 when at Esbjerg Danish Regional Beer Festival. I really like this place, it has a decent beer list, not stunning by any stretch of the imagination but it is decent enough especially for a non-local like me. The food is quite excellent, nothing fancy but the burgers are homemade and go on an empty stomach as they are just huge. Often a good place to get one of the local Esbjerg beers. Very nice surroundings and well situated, a really pleasant place. | | ChristianScheffel (62), Odense, Denmark | | November 14, 2009 One cask ale, a couple of interesting taps, and a just acceptable bottle list. Decent food in classic Danish cafe style. | | faroeviking (108), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands | | November 4, 2009 Very nice and cozy beer spot. Local beers and (Danish , Belgian, German)macros all together, one new English cask every week. Good service. Good nachos indeed! | | Dedollewaitor (75), Odense, Denmark | | October 27, 2009 Very cozy place. I felt comfortable and relaxed. Around 30 beers total which is a big selection in Denmarks fifth largest city. One cask tap, Some locals and Belgium Trappist and German’s. Food is Sandwiches and Burgers. Pretty standard. OK | fobar (9), Søgne, Norway does not count - explanation | | September 18, 2009 Very good food and friendly staff. Good selection in local beers as well as standard commercial lager/pilsner. Nice atmosphere. | | Skinnyviking (63), Copenhagen, Denmark | | July 24, 2009 Been there a few times. Quite big with bar and pub downstairs, possibility to sit outdoor, restaurant area at the top floor. The beers I had were not something special and they did not have any I had not tried before. The premises were, however, quite cosy, the staff friendly and I have always had a good time there. Have not eaten there yet. | | HenrikSoegaard (45), Randers, Denmark | | July 7, 2009 I stop bu once a year. One of the few places in Jylland with real cask ale. Normally opend on wednesdays. Also they usualy have one tap with Esbjerg microbrewery. Bottle selection very decresed in the last years. DØE meeting place. | | Ungstrup (245), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | July 26, 2008 A huge made to look English/Irish pub. A quite wide range, but the speciality, beers from Esbjerg Mikrobryg was off at the time for my visit - and that was the only reason I went, so I was very disappointed. I had a new stale cask beer - but it had been open for 3 whole days, which didn’t do the beer any good. The service was OK, they did check the cellar for extra kegs of Esbjerg beer, but were slow at the table. The food was OK, nothing fancy in the cafe for lunch. Don’t go out of your way for this place, but if you pass right by, then drop in. | | chriso (161), London, England | | May 21, 2008 [ Updated May 30, 2008 ] Excellent spot right on the main square. Lots of seats outside if you feel like watching the world go by. Quite pubby feel inside. Sat at the bar on a quiet Monday afternoon. Barman friendly and knowledgable. I counted 19 taps, of which about half were Danish microbrews. I got an Esbjerg MIcrobryg beer, which was what I was mainly after but there were also another three new beers for me. Didn’t look at the bottle selection or eat - there is a separate restaurant off to the side, don’t know whether they do food in the bar part. I imagine this place would get a lot more lively in the evening (there seems to be some sort of nightclub downstairs). Highly recommended for your first Danish beer or two if you are coming off the ferry. Or at any time for that matter. | | Bragesnak (67), Aarhus, Denmark | | March 25, 2008 Very good beer knowledge.
Large place - best with outdoor serving in the summer |
