Terrific pub with a large selection of house brewed beers, all of which I found quite tasty. The bar staff is topps! and quite knowledgeable about the ales they are pulling. Super friendly regulars really enjoy there lagers and bitters. The concert venue in the back room adds a great bit of atmosphere to the weekends. A must visit for anyone in Derbyshire. Cheers

Not my favourite Derby pub. A good ale selection, particularly there own Headless range, but rather run down. The atmosphere seems to vary from visit to visit, because of the mixed clientele, and on some occasions it isn’t the sort of place I like to hang around.

There is something about this place... Humongous, varying selection totally fit for the ticker and popular enough to be in good condition. Large than it initially appears, but it feels cozy anywhere thanks to well-done room separation. I could spend a whole day here. I think this may be one of my favourite pubs in Britain. Consider it a must. And of course the staff is knowledgeable and the locals at the bar seem to have this tendency to speak.. of all things.. about beer..

Visited frequently as my dad lives close to Derby. A great little pub that always has a superb range of beers available, just that little way off the beaten track to ensure that it doesn’t get swamped like many of the more central pubs. Some very interesting posters detailing old football fixtures and bands etc on display in the back room.

A constantly good pub. Becoming my favorite of Derby Ale pubs. Vast & ever changing selection of beers (though a bit above avarage in price). Alwasys server in excellent condition. Decent food served. Large back room with live bands on most days

This had to be my overall favourite on the recent 7 pub Derby crawl. Vast selection of ales available from the 2 bars. The back bar has to be seen if you’re visiting here, there is a large glass front stillage area where you can see all the barrels and the lines connecting them to the row of taps beneath!

a fine selection of beer, but the place is a bit scruffy / smelly.

Took some finding, but it was worth it. The Flowerpot was my favourite pub on our tour of Derby, neat, compact and friendly, with a good choice of beers. All that could be required of a city boozer and more, very enjoyable.

This place is like a permanent beer festival. Much expanded from its original premises. One room has a glass wall with ranks of barrels on display behind plus half a dozen hand pumps. Wouldn’t win any architectural awards but has a nice feel to it. Presumably gets a bit frenetic when there’s music on but quite quiet when we were there. Didn’t eat.

Update: Lunchtime food is well priced and filling, excellent rolls available behind the bar as well.

Popular real ale pub on northern edge of city centre. Small bar area, several large rooms leading off from it, fairly large patio to rear. Excellent range of beers on draught served from two bars plus a selection brought up from the cellar. Even on a busy Saturday during the Derby CAMRA festival afternon break, this place was comfy, not hideously warm and we had swift and pleasant service.
