| berkshirejohn (79), Bracknell, England | | May 7, 2008 Pleasant, but load sports TV. Limted range of fairly common real ales. Today: Bombardier, Tetley, Wadswoth 6x, Black Sheep Emmerdale. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | August 26, 2007 Well positioned pub within easy walking distance from the city’s others. A pretty correct selection showing different breweries from what’s I’ve seen elsewhere in Derby. Relaxed atmosphere feels a bit out of the town’s center and has notes of a sports bar with this focus-drawing TV set. Not a must in Derby, but a worthy stop if you have 3 days here. | | DJMonarch (83), Northwich, England | | July 29, 2007 Thanks again to haddonsman for introducing me to this place. Nice place to relax and enjoy a beer away from the hustle bustle of city life. A good range of guests complements the Tetley house beer. | | haddonsman (56), Derby, England | | April 27, 2006 [ Updated June 9, 2008 ] ** UPDATE 2008 No longer offers wide selection of microbrews, change of landlord ** A welcome addition to the established real ale scene in Derby since its renovation. Now offers five guest cask ales plus Tetley. Wooden floors and seated inglenook give the Wardwick that traditional pub feel. brbrWith low volume music at lunch it’s almost as quiet as the library over the road, though this all changes in the evening when large screen TV shows Sky Sports, making it one of the few city venues to combine decent beer with sports coverage. brbrA fair selection of ever-changing guests today they had beers from Coach House, Butcombe, Itchin Valley, Shepheard Neame and Robinsons. |
