76 Mayday is in the former Gypsy Hut space in Northside, an interesting neighborhood in Cincinnati. The surrounding area is a mix of hipster, hood, industrial, and just all-around different. The crowd here is certainly hipster. Live music all the time, and no cover when we went for one of Cincy’s high-rising bands. Nice front bar area, a back bar in te next room, a nice gritty space for live music, a game room above it, a huge patio, and a rooftop with some tables and chairs- this bar has a little of everything, and it has character over polish. PBR is unsurprisingly on tap, but so are a decent selection of domestic crafts. Fridge full of rotating crafts- Stone, DFH, Rivertown, Moerlein, Bell’s, Founders, Goose Island, Bear Republic, and many others. Relaxed atmosphere, nice staff, and a lot of ways to have a great time. A little off the beaten path in Northside, but well worth a visit. |
