This used to be a beer pub opposite Sint-Pieters station and in many ways a more attractive place to have a beer while you’re waiting for your train than any other pub in this otherwise rather depressing neighborhood. Beer list contained mostly classics, no big surprises or rarities, but there was enough to choose from. Service was friendly, food was okay. In all, nothing important, but acceptable and the best choice in this specific area of Ghent for something a bit different from the usual, bigger brand Belgian beers you’ll find anywhere. However, it has changed proprietors meanwhile and is now run by Nepalese people - with a below average beer menu. The "100" in the "100 different beers" sign on the window has cleverly been deleted... The only beers they serve here now, around ten or so, are very well-known classics you’ll find anywhere in the neighborhood, or in Belgium for that matter. Food is still good though...

Best cafe for beer near the train station. Not the most atmospheric of place but a pretty good beer menu. The hotel is pretty good as well.

Great hangout place while in Gent for work. I like their selection and it’s convenient to visit just after quitting time. I’d say it’s pretty cozy and friendly wait staff!

Quick and friendly service. Prices are moderate to high for Belgium. Located far from the city centre but right across the railway station. Which is good if you miss your connection and have to wait an hour. Selection is good. Decoration is good, comfi chairs, some beermemorablia on the walls, but too bright to relax in my opinion. And I don’t like the curtains.

Great location directly opposite the main railway station. Nice place, with very decent selection. Good music.

Another one that missed the cut for GBG Belgium 2009. Great position opposite the city’s larger mainline railway station. Hotel upstairs. A few better beers are starting to appear but mainly ’safer’ ones, a bit like the menu.

Funny thing, good weather and looking for a place to sit, I accidentally stumbled upon this place. Had a look at the beermap and was pleasantly surprised (obv). Had a Gouden Carolus Ambrio, proper glassware and service was good. Location is good to sit outside. Didn’t try any of their food. As Joris says, way better than average but not really worth looking up unless you want to try something new in Ghent.

Located directly opposite the main entrance of the St; Pieters Station (Gent main railway station) - ideal for a quick one betweent trains. 8 taps, with one guest beer regularily changing. Modernish, clean and light looks. Service not bad, but calling me "young man" on my 51st is fawning. Reasonably interesting beerlist, including things as Verhaeghe Echte Kriek, Petrus Aged Pale, Brigand IPA, Buffalo Bitter or aged Orval. Hot drinks include several coffee-and-spirits. Kitchen not tried, lots of hot and cold snacks, but also full hot meals, including beer cuisine. Next door full restauration and hotel. Continous radio music, newspapers available. Not a top bar, but wààày better than the average stationbar!
