78 An Australian pub feel with magnificent burgers and a surprisingly comprehensive (if selective) beer list. |
84 This is a great place. The selection of bottle beers is extensive, and the 500ml beers are good value. The staff was helpful in recommending beer, and the atmosphere was relaxing. |
72 A funky little bar with an extensive bottle list. A relaxed and cosy place, I wish I had spent some more time here as I only stopped for a quick visit on both occasions and enjoyed a 2 Brothers Voodoo. |
84 The best place I’ve found in Melbourne for hard-to-find beers in the fridge. Huge range of local microbrews and some Euro wonders. Seem to have abandoned mainstream tap beers and almost exlcusively local microbrews (3 Ravens, St Arnous, Grandridge etc). Very relaxed atmosphere... |
78 Cosy little pub, a little out from the CBD. Loads of bottled beers to choose from, 3 ravens on pump and a hargreaves hill on tap. Staff are as friendly as you could get, prices are middle of the range, although I remember the 3 ravens was quite cheap for the pint. Simple but well done pub food. Worth the look for sure, this place deserves to do well. |
58 Great pub to visit. Vanvenlo attends the Dutch evening held every morth or so? Huge arrange of beers in the fridge from Belgium and Germany. Staff are very easy going. |
74 After visting this place and an amazing beer cafe in downtown country Daylesford over the past week I think Mullet is spot on with his recent post / observations on the improvement in the Australian beer scene. Anyway...Lambs Go Bar. Located just of Smith Street in Fitzroy in a "semi" renovated bluestone home. Interior has that quinissential inner Melbourne / north of the Yarra bar / pub feel complete with kitsch furniture fittings and second hand lounges. Plenty of nooks and crannies given the building’s previous life as a residence. Three beers on tap tonight (St Arnou Pilsner, Stella, Coopers Pale) but the real excitement is an excellent range of genuine Oz micros and bunch of Germans and Belgiums I had not seen before. Prices seemed fair at around $6.50 for the Australian stuff running up to $15 for a Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen (90% rating). Oz range included Holgate, Hargreaves, Beechworth, Steam Packet, Little Creatures. I reckon this place would work well for an offline on a quite Monday or Tuesday. |
76 I haven’t been there in quite a while now but it’s a cool place. Tap beers are usually Stella and something interesting, but the bottled beers are far better, though many are out of date (not good). It’s also tres cher, but it’s a really cool old bluestone house and the guys behind the bar are cool. |
