Visited July 2012. A little boring decor is outweighed by the selection. Allthough it looks like an ordinary café, it has a good selection of small micros. 70’s rock in the speakers and one of the few one-smoking bars. Come for the beer if in area.

Good set of interesting beers, but probably not the really rare ones (if you are not satisfied - just go to Svet Piva really close to the place). I didn’t like the staff, but it is probably a coincidence. Food is really good, and this is a restaurant. The biggest problem is that there are a lot of brilliant beer places on this street and a lot near that.

Small pub right next to Pivovar Victor, with an unusual and slightly eclectic beer selection. The food is standard Czech pub grub, tasty and simple. Slightly pricey for Czech standards. Décor is simple and unpretentious, service is effective and friendly. Weren’t in the Sklepni Bar, as we were more interested in getting some food down, so I’ll have to check that out next time.

Quite alright place with a few micros on tap. All beers I’ve had there has been quite vyborny. Alliance Piv place and in the vicinity of several other great pubs. The area is a must visit for explorers, and Merenda shouldn’t be passed by.

(Visited July 2012) Quite a nice restaurant and beer bar in the slightly worn down area of Zizkov, not far from U Slovanske Lipy (on the same street, a couple of blocks away). Not very pretentious interior, but it works quite well. Friendly and efficient service. Decent pub food. Seven taps with beers from different breweries, most of them fairly small and quite uncommon. Downstairs bar was closed on my visit on a fairly slow Saturday afternoon in July. Worth a visit, easily combined with U Slovanske Lipy.

Quite like this place. It’s got a dart board and projector in the downstairs bit. Table football upstairs and a fairly typical Czech pub lay out. Welcoming. They have some good taps with a commitment to Czech micro. Nothing too dramatic but the price is right. If you’re here, you should try the 60 crown burgers over the road at Shadow bar and don’t forget to chech in at U Slovanske Lipy over the road and up a bit.

Excellent restaurant in Zizkov serving beers from small and medium-sized czech breweries, guaranteed in top condition. Interior is the common cheapo post-communist style, but hey, prices are cheap and beer is good. I just wish they had more diversity as most of the beers are light lagers, but at least they have good ones like Matuska american pale ale and the like.

A member of Alliance PIV. Information about each beer on "beer cards" over the bar. In the basement is the Sklepni Bar, a long dark cave. It opens a bit later, 4PM. A nice place with beer in good condition. A must visit if you are in Zizkov. (Visited 25th February 2012)

I must say, I really like this place. It is a small-scale multi-tap bar (small as in having "only" six taps at the restaurant plus around four at the bar downstairs), but less pretentious and glamorous than other places of this type in town thus much more authentic. The food is good and plenty, within in the most typical Czech selection. The beer offer is good and quite unpredictable, at honest prices. And, bonus, the restaurant is fully no-smoking (the bar downstairs is not though). Worth a visit.
