62 This place wasn’t too bad whilst on a brief visit to the city. Plenty of their own beers to try. |
52 Located a short walk from Nevsky Prospekt and close to Yusipoff Palace, this large cavernous space has a vibe that isn’t exactly inviting. Crappy music playing but the beer was actually pretty good, particularly the pilsner. It’s worth stopping in, but It’s not what you’d call a date place. |
58 Big Communistic space, not far off Nevsky Prospekt. They have a wide range of beers, mostly okay stuff. Service was fine, but the big space and lack of people lent it a somewhat depressing vibe. At least I got in the door this time, which is more than I can say for my first attempt in 2000, when St. Petersburg was a different place and I had a really bad experience here. |
40 Large industrial place, somewhat Soviet and kind of lame. Appreciated the offering of a filtered and unfiltered for comparison. But the beers were generally disappointing. |
64 Massive brewpub with some nice enough tap beers and really good value food. Definately worth stopping by. |
66 Impressive lay out and seems to be a popular place. A good selection of unfiltered beers, the pick being the wheat beer. Enjoyed some brilliant sushi. |
42 Visited here in 2004, surprised I haven’t entered it yet. We came here after a long walk down Nevsky Prospekt to find a huge restaurant building, very loud, and, how shall I put it: Eurotrashy. Imagine a room just for sushi, served from a trough of floating swan plates. Lots of the usual exposed brickwork and airy space that’s somewhat familiar to American beer geeks, but still with pretensions. All Tinkoff on tap of course, and some available to take home in bottles (I suggest their rauch). Had trouble getting anyone’s attention to sell me a beer. |
