Turned up to this place to see it renamed King St Brewhouse and featuring mostly BlueTongue stuff. No James Squire available. No beer brewed onsite, although apparently they’ll get to it once they have a licence. Asked the admins whether to close this up (as it is a rather different and not very good place) or rename it, but haven’t received a response so far. Going to to try retiring it and see if it takes.

Excellent location and of course great selection of Squires. The bar staff don’t seem to know, care about the beer as much as they should. Pricy but understandable considering the location. Overall a great place and always worth a visit when on the wharf.

A decent place for beer tourists in Darling harbour. Good views of the water and people watching. Thier house brews are hit and miss. Brought some non beeraphiles and they were not too impressed.

Much like the Docklands brewpub in Melbourne, ok food, pretty average beers, the punters didn’t give a shit about what they were drinking. Seems like a bit of a waste of a brewery. Again, the staff knew little to nothing about the beers, I guess I’m not surprised when nobody drinks the house brews. I’ll give it a couple of extra points for location though.

A quick visit on a Sunday Afternoon. It was extremely busy on the day so just settled with the one beer. This was more due to lack of staff available. I wasn’t too keen on waiting around for food, but one positive is the nice position along the wharf.

A very Sydney brewpub. It’s right on the water, it’s packed with suits on Thursday and Friday nights and no one really gives a stuff about whether the beer is any good or not. That said, it’s a pleasant spot to while away a sunny afternoon - you can sit outside and pretty much have the place to yourself. It’s not cheap, but then the rent for a location like this is extrortionate. It’s big and roomy. If you’re visiting from out of town, this is the sort of place that’s safe to take your non-beer-drinking partner. She can enjoy the location while you sample the brews. Beer standards seem to be variable but generally pretty solid.

Ok, so it’s kinda cheesy and tourist focussed but I can’t but help like it. Food is decent, ok priced for Sydney and they at least serve samplers. Great location bang in the middle of Darling Harbour.

Not a bad place to spend a sunny sunday afternoon, but it would probably suck midweek when its full of suits. Beer selection is very limited, they only seem to have 2 of their own beers on tap any time I’ve been there, which is really slack! Bar staff have very little enthusiasm or product knowledge. Food is good, though a little expensive.

I dunno. This place was full of tourists (on both sides of the bar) when I was there. The Governor King was crap, though the one-off Oyster Stout was good. Not convinced by this place - I guess it’s places like this that make me dislike Sydney, though I guess there’s crap, tourist-trap, expensive bars in every city.
