Hops Grillhouse and Brewery, Gainesville

...well, the staff knows nothing about beer, which is rediculous. This was not a brew-pub. More like a commercial buissness that had beer on tap, that might have been brewed there. A beer theme surrounds you, but is not convincing. The steak special I had was filled with fat and gristle, which I did not pay for. Just another chain resturant.

Well, the beer sucks but the food is good and service excellent. Not a bad place to hang on this side of town.

Hops has pretty damn good food, but lacks in the one deptarment where it should be exceling: the beer. The serving staff knows precious little about beer, although in my time there I’ve been able to talk with some of the other memebers of the staff and found some real beer lovers. Hops beer is fairly bland for a brewpub, hop profile is always lower than I expect. They do have some very drinkable beers, especially considering most bars here only serve the big 4, but I’d expect more from a brewpub.

this place is ok. hot ass wait staff helps. i drank a shitload of beers here and put on a damn good buzz. thank you lord.
