JackfromJax (1), Florida does not count - explanation | | September 21, 2009 Micropub feel with a pretty large bar, lots of seating, patio, and dark wood. Mash Tun, Boil Kettle, Fermenters, and Bright Tanks are visible through glass. Solid beers on tap with the Pilsner, IPA, Stout and Brown Ale (in that order) shining through. The seasonals and barrel aged beers are outstanding but are not on tap continuously. The beers served on the handpull beer engine are very nice as well. Even though this is a Gordon Biersch establishment, the head brewer is allowed to have enough creativity to make it worth your while. | | Ibrew2or3 (161), Safety Harbor, Florida | | September 6, 2009 Wow, nice looking somewhat upscale place and by far the swankiest brewpub in this part of the state. They had 6 house brew offerings during my visit. I saw barrels stored away in the room with the bright tanks. I’m guessing they’re barrel aging some of the beer. Very cool. It is a bit odd seeing the brew system high above upstairs. This is a pretty big place with dozens of booths and tables with patio options as well. I need to try the food next time I stop by. It looks really good. If I make it to this part of the state again I’m definitely stopping in again. | | sebletitje (78), Tampa, Florida | | August 16, 2009 Located next to a big Hilton in what seems a business area with a theater next door.
More corporate feel, part of the Gordon Biersch chain.
Average beer choice limited to the 7 Bridges.
Didn’t eat there, but the food seemed quite appetizing. Not much ambiance to speak of, bunch of tv’s playing boring sports, dim lighting.
Service was nothing special, the big corporate smile that is supposed to make everyone feel at home with the autotbot repeating the 7 Bridges history.
Nice and clean inside. | jimmyjack (2), does not count - explanation | | July 4, 2009 Tried a cask conditioned IPA; strong dark body but with a thin pallet and wondereful creamy head. complex hoppy start to finish. I liked the price and quality, did not try food. I was there at happy hour. If its like Rock Bottom in Atlanta (seems to be same franchise) they offer a membership and you get your own numbered glass that is 4 extra oz. for same price; good deal if you live in the area. | JaxBeachEd (1), Jacksonville Beach, Florida does not count - explanation | | June 30, 2009 A good selection of handcrafted beers. Usually there are a couple of small-batch cask ales on the hand-pulled taps. Recently the brewer had a bourbon barrel-aged brown; look for more barrel-aged brews to come, he just secured several more Jim Beam barrels. The standard beers are good, particularly the pils and the IPA. Usually features a seasonal (for summer, a nice wheat). I go more for the beer than the food, but there are some tasty appetizers and entrees on the menu, particularly the new summer menu (shrimp tacos - yum!). | | kseecs16 (141), Naperville, Illinois | | April 17, 2009 Corporate feeling place, bright with a big rectangle bar. Almost identical in layout to the Rock Bottom in Warrenville, IL. Apparently Gordon Biersch and Rock Bottoms relationship resulted in some shared architectural plans. Has some Pool tables. Comfortable overall. Solid if unspectacular beers. Two cask offerings. Did not get to try the food. | | Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | February 13, 2009 Big and friendly, although nondescript and generic, place. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | January 16, 2009 Decent brewpub, probably the least atmospherically of the three local GB-owned establishments. The beers were pretty good and they had an interesting BA IPA on. Service was fine and dandy. | | beerbill (43), Laurel, New York | | September 2, 2008 We ate here twice during our trip: once on the way down to Disney and once on our way back. Our first visit was for dinner and the second was lunch. Nice, big spacious room with comfortable seating and a booth that easily fit the five of us. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the place, including the silverware. Service was absolutely excellent on both visits. My kids’ soda glasses were refilled every time without asking. The beers were all solid. The food is very good with a diversity of options. Plenty of parking. Its several minutes off I-95, but worth the side trip if you’re heading that way. | Shane087 (3), Jacksonville, Florida does not count - explanation | | September 1, 2008 Nice atmospere, good service. The food was very good. House brews were good but not great. My favorites were the IPA, Stout and Sweet Magnolia. Will definitely return again. |
