| changeup45 (46), Orlando, Florida | | April 15, 2008 [ Updated September 18, 2009 ] Not a bad little place. The store is located in a small plaza right by the Univerisity of Central Florida. Technically in Oviedo, it is pretty much right on the Orlando and Orange County border. Definitely not going to wow with selection but if you’re going in there without anything particular in mind and just want to buy a good beer I’m sure you’ll find something. Prices seem about right. There won’t be much at all here that won’t be at Big C Liquors down the road but I did see one or two beers I haven’t seen before and you could find a gem. Big C is definitely a better beer store and is about 8 miles or so going west on University Blvd but if you’re visiting UCF you’d have no problem finding something good here. RE-RATE. Seems they are cutting way back their beer stock as they hardly had anything last time I was in there. Shamrock Liquors is still okay so they are probably just focusing on that store. Seemed strange having two stores so close by anyways. | | PhillyBeer2112 (57), Orange Park, Florida | | February 14, 2008 Not too shabby, a pleasant surprise option close to the UCF campus. Found a good range of quality micros like Bells batch 8000, some Dogfish Head, good range of Lagunitas, St. Bernardus and other Belgians. Worth hitting if you’re in the UCF area, and closer to campus than Big C. Small store though, and its cramped in the back where some of the shelves are hiding around the corner towards the rear storage and some are hiding behind stacked boxes! Guy at the counted seemed to know somethng about beer (was enthused about my Bells purchase). |
