We kind of just discovered this bar in one of the THOUSANDS of pamphlets on St. Augustine. I actually loved this place the most of all the beer stops in this quaint little city. The wine taps were very cool. There are over 50 beers on tap and 100 bottles. Sure, they arent the rarest of the rare, but these people are really trying. We spoke to the owner and the bartender and they are doing all kind of special things. They were preparing for an Oktoberfest while we were there. The menu while limited, was SUPERB. I had a chicken salad sandwhich, and actually, it was one of the best ones I have ever had. This place is definitely worth a visit for any beer person.

Since it’s all about the beer, let me get that out of the way first. The selection is mediocre at best. The one saving grace was Big Foot ’07 on tap. Otherwise, the beer menu is a collection of pale lagers from different regions/countries around the world. Total number of beers brewed in the United States? About seven. Service was great while we took in the Belmont Stakes. A ridiculously hot waitress on Saturday (with a tiny diamond stud in her nose... those totally do it for me... I have no idea why) who didn’t know much about beer, but checked on us often and seemed to have a crush on my wife (I like the way you think, but Wendy’s as straight as an arrow). On Sunday, the bartender was a fifty-something man who couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive. We spent about six hours there watching the rain-delayed NASCAR race on the largest of their three plasma TVs. Laid back crowd scattered around the nine table dining area and at the bar. They have a jukebox which I dropped about ten bucks in so I could avoid listening to boring 60s and 70s drivel all day long. Unfortunately, when most of my selections played, they turned the volume wayyyy down. Imagine that! Decent selection of cigars, but nowhere to smoke them. The food was killer... mainly appetizers for us. The crab-filled mushrooms and shrimp empanadas were great.
