hopskiing (1), , does not count - explanation | | November 25, 2009 Wow! What a find out of the way off the beaten path. The Wine shop next door has an awesome selection of Brooklyn, Belgium and a lot more. The bartender Dave suggested a food pairing. Awesome, what an experiance. Tampa’s best kept secret. The crowd was mixed and really friendly. The local’s all chipped in and made helped me with suggestions. The restaurant has it’s own brew called BRUTEL NOODLE. Oh they have a rewards that is really coo too. They send emails about beer and wine tastings. I heard they have a beer and food paring dinner that is off the chain. Count me in! | flatout (2), New Port Richey, Florida does not count - explanation | | August 2, 2008 Great place, has been there forever. A nice little Italian resturant with a decent import and craft ale selection. Way to go Mike!!!! | | nick76 (76), Tampa, Florida | | February 23, 2006 [ Updated August 2, 2009 ] This is a place that I want to delete but can’t figure out how. | | crizay (117), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio | | February 2, 2006 So I walked in and couldn’t really tell where to sit, the place is small but split in the middle one side being the fine wine & dine area with slow music playing (which isn’t for me) and luckily the other side was like a sports bar. I can see where the hesitation would come from to list this place, they have beer and good beer, but it’s not a huge selection, there’s nothing to crazy, but they do have some quality brands in there, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Anchor Steam & Paulaner on Draught, and they have a beer menu and a visible cooler for the seasonal stuff. Took advantage of $2 wednesday, had a bunch of Sam Adams I haven’t seen in a store before. I heard the owner talking and he cares about beer but it’s not getting any bigger than this 4 on draught and probably around 30 different bottles, he was saying Rogue was too big of a bottle to sell. The service was great and the food was awesome huge portion I couldn’t finish and well it’s an italian restaurant with a good beer selection, that’s 2 bonuses when taking your woman out. | | NYHarvey (124), New York, New York | | August 17, 2005 [ Updated May 6, 2006 ] May 6th re-rate. Went back on may 5th and they have added a few more brews tot he lineup. Saw a DFH, some Shipyard and even a Stoudt’s brew. Might have been a few other new ones too, but I didn’t get a great look at the case. Food is still awesome!
I hesitated to add this place because their selection isn’t outstanding, but I did for a few reasons.
First they have had micros on the menu since 1988 and never wavered from that. That counts for something.
Second it really is a nice relaxed environment to get some great food and have a beer. The staff is amazing and everyone is friendly.
The final kicker that made me post this place is this: Wednesday they have $2 bottled Micros. Selection is nothing fancy. They have all Sierra stuff including the Barley Wine, some Youngs, Anchor Steam and Porter, a few ciders, a few Bert Grant’s beers and a few other things.
If you are in North Tampa (Forest Hills/Carrollwood area) and want a really affordable beer you can’t beat $2 bottles.
