| gunhaver (12), Tampa, Florida | | February 15, 2008 It’s a liquor store next to Winn Dixie. The craft beers are in the back, with a bunch of sixers of Americans on the left and a fridge full of a few good Belgians and other Americans. There’s also a couple of big bottles mixed in with the hard liquor, so keep an eye open for ’em. Selection is about as good as you’ll find in a local liquor store. And prices weren’t bad, either. Bought a He’Brew 11 for $4.50...pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but if you live close by and want to take home a few good sixers at a good price, this is a decent place. | | nick76 (49), Tampa, Florida | | December 8, 2006 [ Updated May 28, 2007 ] I must admit I was surprised to see how much good stuff this guy has. There is nothing out of the ordinary mind you but if you are looking to stock up on all your old time favorites then this is your place. There is every major American micro brew (is that an oxymoron?) plus many macros (import and domestic). The owner has a unique sense of humor too. No need to go out of your way to visit but if your near USF and you need a good beer, then stop by. | TampaBeer (4), Tampa, Florida does not count - explanation | | December 2, 2006 Near complete selection of the Rogue line, plus some other gems set in a typical hole in the wall liquor store. Nicely priced and friendly folks! Older British gentleman working the register -obviously in pain from a broken arm- cheerfully responds to a customer: "Drinking arm still works!" | | kseecs16 (93), Westmont, Illinois | | February 22, 2006 You’d think it was an average crappy liquor store when you walk in. But there’s a not half-bad selection of bottles in the back, featuring Rogue, Avery, and as aforementioned a lot of Polish brews. Not great, but deserves credit. | | crizay (103), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio | | February 19, 2006 [ Updated March 26, 2006 ] Mostly a liquor store that’s open till 3am 7 days a week. Not a big selection at all just one shelf with mostly six packs, Rogue, Great Divide and Avery Bombers, liked that they had a lot of Polish beers. It would be a place to go to once in a while as there selection probably doesn’t change much, but the prices are cheap and they have some goodies, warm or some in a little tiny cooler. | | Retorp (124), Tampa, Florida | | February 16, 2006 Basically a liquor store but they have a small shelf of excellent beers and a small cooler with more craft beers. Lots of Avery, DFH, Shipyard, Rogue and Polish/Russian products as well as others. Prices are pretty good and the staff was very courteous. | | allfreej (45), Louisville, Kentucky | | May 7, 2005 Friendly, very knowledgable staff. The selection wasn’t vast, but smaller amounts of fewer beers results in a fresher selection at this store, and the selection did feature a number of high quality brews. Definitely worth a visit. | | matta (81), Tampa, Florida | | November 10, 2004 Beverly is this cool woman that runs the beer section of the store. This place would not stand a chance of having a fine beer selection if it weren’t for her passion! I think she’s a member of this site because there is a sign in the store that says something like, “If you have any questions about the beer in this store, go and reference RateBeer.com”
Anyway, This store is ideal for all USF students, and I think the students even get a discount. Nice experimental selection of beer in the back of the store and there is a Coke cooler in the front corner of the store that has chilled individual singles, but they are not in any order so you have to weed through them to see what they’ve got… it’s usually pretty good. Nice respectable prices too! |
