11 reviews for Whole Foods Market, Winter Park
| markwise (56), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida | | July 13, 2008 I was surprised to see all of this beer at Whole Foods, and this one has the best selection of many WF’s I have seen. They have a great selection of English and organic beers and lots of DFH and rare seasonals. It’s pretty good, stop by on the way to Mellow or Redlight Redlight, the prices are not wonderful, but if you find something rare, why not? | | changeup45 (46), Orlando, Florida | | July 2, 2008 I would have never thought to check here if it weren’t for other online reviews. And even then I wasn’t in a rush. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality, which I’d say is better than average (just to name a few: Rogue, Dogfish, HeBrew, Hardys, St. Bernardus, Orval) with some others I’ve never seen before. Isn’t as good as Big C, which is very close by or Knightly Spirits but this place is good for what it is. Also a very nice selection of wine and cheese in the back corner where the beer is along with the obvious organic foods. Parking is a little hectic and the place always seems to be pretty crowded but give it a look if you’re in the area. | | PhillyBeer2112 (57), Orange Park, Florida | | January 7, 2008 I was pretty impressed by the selection here. I like Whole Foods anyway, but its a bonus when you can pick up new ratnigs alongside the groceries. Not a huge selection - in fact Big C and Knightlys both beat it, but if you’re passing by on your way to Redlight or Mellow Mushroom (right next door), its definitely worth a stop to see if they’ve got something you’re looking for. They did for me. Also some really good cheese in stock, plus all the other organic health food goodies they’re known for. | | DragonStout (73), Pataskala, Ohio | | December 9, 2007 This used to be my local beer store before I moved.Great selection of Belgians, imports and craft brews.A definate stop if you are close by. | | Beerlando (43), Orlando, Florida | | June 28, 2007 For such a small grocery, the beer selection is impressive (same goes for wine and cheese, but I’ll leave that out of the rating). Probably about 100 different brews available, mostly in six-pack format, but some singles as well. Many of the standard micros are available (Sierra Nevada, Unibroue, Rogue, Dogfish Head, Great Divide, North Coast, etc.) Also found a decent Belgian selection (St. Bernanrdus, Orval, Delerium, Chimay, etc.). Its about a 40/60 split between chilled and non-chilled. You can find some gems on occassion. | DrHomolka (9), Columbus, Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 22, 2007 They have a nice selection of micros and imports in a corner in the back of the store. They don’t have much room but do a pretty good job of keeping quality stuff. I’ve seen some specials here that are nice (120 minute for 7.99, cheapest I’ve seen it) and the regular prices are reasonable. They don’t have anything really rare that other stores don’t have but you’ll definitely be able to find something good here. | | fiulijn (198), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy | | December 18, 2005 I was there a couple of years ago; I was not interested in the Belgian beers, but I found excellent American ones, which was what I was looking for. They where kind enough to make up a mixed 6-pack of Lost Coast . | | PorterPounder (180), Tallahassee, Florida | | August 28, 2005 Excellent selection for the area. Dogfish Head, Rogue, Shipyard, standard foreign fare, a few Belgians - was able to pick up two from France and Poland I had not had. Dozens of miscellaneous singles. Nice touch with the employees recommendations beside a few select choices. Parking is chaotic and the store is cramped, but worth a visit. | wynno (6), Florida does not count - explanation | | June 30, 2005 Yes, go for the beer; and then drive over to the Big C when you’re done. There’s actually two things I rate---the beer & the store. The store is also worth the trip just to see something different. It’s a new-age, holistic, spiritual, hippie kind of place, but VERY COOL. | | ElGaucho (146), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | January 31, 2005 Not all that convenient to get to if you are coming from Hwy 4, but worth the detour. My main frustration with this place is that they would not break up 6-packs. And, although that is fairly standard industry practice, that doesn’t make it ok. Are you telling me that if I take 1 Dogfish head 60 minute IPA out of a 6-pack that they wont be able to sell the rest of the singles? Please. Aside from that and aside from the fact that the parking lot and Whole Foods itself are chaotic and cramped, there was a very nice selection. Avery, Shipyard, St. Bernardus, Duvel, Ommegang, Gouden Carolus, and many, many more. I was unable to visite either of the Knightly stores because they DON’T OPEN UNTIL NOON SUNDAY! Hey, who am I to complain, at least they are OPEN SUNDAY, unlike the liquor stores in MN! I did call them and they indicated they also do not break up 6-packs. The guy asked me what I was looking for and laughed when I said Dogfish head, that they would never break up a Dogfish Head 6-pack. Like they would never be able to sell 5 single bottles. |
