November 27, 2009 A decent restaurant. Not the quality of Gordon Biersch, but very good. The parking is a problem and the pricing is a little above average. Not bad overall though. |

November 17, 2009 Nice place with a small lot you might get parking in, six beers on tap when I visited, they were sort of underwhelming. Didn’t take note of the food, seemed like a power lunch crowd when I was there at noon on a weekday. |

July 26, 2009 Decent beer. The food is good, but a bit pricey. They seem to be going more for fine-dining rather than a pub-style feel.
I rather enjoyed sitting on the patio out back, but that has been closed the last few times I went (I tend to visit downtown about once a year).
While the beer is good, you get the impression that they are a restaurant that happens to brew good beer, rather than highlight the beer with the food as a plus. |

May 11, 2009 I was not expecting much from Max Lagers at all and my expectations were lowered when I was greeted with a very strong soured grain aroma upon entering the building. I must say in all fairness, the beers I had were pretty darn good. The atmosphere is open and factory-esque with two or three stories and brick walls. The place wasn’t too crowded at 5 pm on a Friday. Service was good. The menu had mostly entrees and pizzas, it seemed a step closer to finer dining than the average pub. I had a good time sitting at the bar and I will most likely come back. |

April 30, 2009 Thought this place was mediocre. The lay-out was that typical industrial look you see in many brewpubs. Our server was pretty good, we split a few apps and a pizza. The pizza was solid, the chicken tenders not so good.
As for the beer: They had 4 on tap when I was there (pretty weak selection if you ask me) - APA, Lager, Brown, and Stout. Beers were OK, but not worth going from too far away. Our hotel was 2 blocks away, I’d say it was worth that walk, but not much more! |

February 2, 2009 Urban/industrial vibe, high ceilings, lots of metal. Lacking coziness but a decent pit stop. |

January 29, 2009 Big place, felt okay in there but it was a little dead. The beers - one was all right but the other was a butter bomb. That’s not cool. Service was good. |

November 6, 2007 Visited here in October ’05. Much more of an urban feel to the place than their counterpart out in the burbs at the Georgia Mall. Only had about five on tap and the barkeep did not seem to know much about them. Food was serviceable, Has a pool table and plenty of floor space upstairs. Not worth going out of your way for - but if in the downtown ATL - drop on by. |

August 23, 2007 It has a great...
downtown location near the conference center. Thats the mian positive about this place.
The ambieance was ’we’re trying so hard to be cool’, but they couldn’t succefuly stick with a themed gimmick well enough to make it remotely work.
The beer was average at best.
The service was subpar to say the least.
The food left a fair amount to be desired.
One of the more negative reviews I’ve ever written. |

February 28, 2007 A dandy brewpub near - if not in - the heart of Atlanta. I like the rather rough decor because it makes the place unpretentious. Their brews are excellent; I need to visit the place soon so I can rate some of them. Food is above average by a comfortable margin. |
