| Prometheus (18), Fayetteville, North Carolina | | April 3, 2009 It was awesome to find a brewery in Columbus. About ten seats at the bar and 30 tables in the restaurant. You could see the brewing equipment and the walls were exposed brick. Nice ambiance and not too many tables, so it didn’t feel so crowded. The regular beer was nice, but the seasonal dunkel wasn’t that great. The beer menu explained the history and characteristics of each of the beers, and there was a chalkboard with the status of various different concoctions they were making. They only sell the beer that they brew, so don’t come expecting anything else. | | NachlamSie (209), Tennessee | | March 16, 2009 It is always a pleasant feature of a town to have its own brewery. However, this one was not too exciting. The ambiance is nice and inviting: historic downtown location, exposed brick walls, tasteful decor, and bustling, though not overcrowded, business. The problem was chiefly the beer. I was not very satisfied. It is also strange that the bar is so small. Our waiter was nice, courteous, and informative in our interactions, however he was a little slow and unattentive. All we had was one round of beer and it took a considerable amount of time for that. | | beastiefan2k (108), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas | | March 7, 2008 If it wasn’t for this place the 10 days I spent at Ft. Benning would have been horrible. Really do not get the bad ratings b/c this is an above average brewpub. The decor is great, fully exposed brick building. Was a 2 story building once but not the middle part was cut out so the ceiling is way up there. But the brewing equipment is still above the main floor. There is a fireplace 10 feet above your head, cool. Lots of army decoration and a separate area with some booth for family i would think. Big open area where everyone sits and the bar at the end. Food, had a few thing would say between below average - average. Service could have been better on a pretty quiet Saturday afternoon. Its located in a nice part of Columbus, next to the river. Now beer: I was highly impressed. 4 regulars on, one was out and a seasonal.. The seasonal sucked but it was a gimmicky beer. All the regular beer was above average. Maybe the brewer changed or they got their sit together cause the beer was good and I enjoyed every one of them. | Drama (2), Columbus, Georgia does not count - explanation | | July 25, 2007 I just wish this place was better. I like the beer but can’t stand the wait staff. Always slow and unhelpful. Owner doesn’t really care as it has always been this way. Good pizza. | | harpus (40), birmingham, Alabama | | August 31, 2005 The beer here is OK. They make a great pizza. | | MrRomero (105), Nolanville, Texas | | January 25, 2004 Has six house beers but I am unsure if they serve anything else. Food was decent. Service could be better. |
