| CheersMate1 (34), Atlanta, Georgia | | August 10, 2007 Great store. Doug, the owner is a nice man, and willing to talk about brewing all day long. He had my brother and I start our first brew batch for less than $150. That is great considering the supplies you only need to buy once except, of course, the ingredients, which typically you can brew a 5-gallon batch of beer for less than $30, which is awesome. Doug is great, he knows exactly what you need, and can tell you exactly what you have done wrong during the home-brewing process. A very nice man who has a genuine interest for brewing. I recommend everyone make a trip to the store. It is a little out of the way, but you can make a half a day trip out of it. The trip is well worth it. I love this store, and he even mentioned that he has supplies at his store that he might never sell, but has them to appease his customers. Very nice man and a very nice store. | | jhumphries69 (20), Tyrone, Georgia | | September 22, 2006 [ Updated March 31, 2007 ] Good homebrew store. Once upon a time it wasn’t as good a selection as Marietta Homebrew used to have (which has unfortunately closed), but the relatively new owner, Doug, keeps it stocked much better with a better variety of products - and he is a very experienced homebrewer and homevintner who is extremely helpful. He took over the place in the beginning of 05, I believe, and has really improved the place (no offense meant to the woman who used to run it - she was very nice - but it was only stocked with the essentials, and sometimes they were low on those). Current owner is definitely a beer nerd - in a very good way, for discussing recipes and ingredients. | LaniPux (1), Sharpsburg, Georgia does not count - explanation | | July 26, 2006 I LOVE this place!!! The owner is SO helpful and they have everything I need. I messed up a batch of blueberries last year by pressing them and adding sugar (I had intended to make jam). I didn’t think about the consequences of leaving the mixture out overnight. When my husband joked the next morning about making blueberry liquor, I thought “what a great idea!” and we took a trip to Just Brew It. The owner told me what I’d need, helped me figure out an easy to follow, step-by-step recipe and didn’t even laugh at me when I told him of my folly! He was even happy to answer questions over the phone during the process. As long as this place is around, I’ll never need to go to another brew shop. I have plans for muscadine or scuppernong wine this year. You can BET I’ll be back! | WarFockewulf (3), Douglasville, Georgia does not count - explanation | | June 3, 2006 Great Homebrew shop. The owner will talk about brewing and beers for as long as you got time. Great service! | Namako (7), APO AE, does not count - explanation | | February 25, 2006 Stopped by on a recent trip through the area to see what I may have been missing. Left with an assortment of supplies I couldn’t live without, as well as a very positive image of the business. I plan on using "Just Brew It" as a mailorder source from my home on Okinawa, Japan. The owner was knowledgable and willing to ship via the USPS - both greatly appreciated!! Highly recommended. | jordank (4), Senoia, Georgia does not count - explanation | | January 22, 2006 Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Worth the trip. | | TheBeerOrg (34), Kentucky | | June 17, 2005 [ Updated July 3, 2007 ] My favorite homebrew shop in and around Atlanta. Under relatively new ownership, the owner has managed to get competitive prices for yeast, hops, and most supplies. I still prefer to buy my hops online. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and we talk about beer at length each time I visit. About 25-30 minutes south of downtown Atlanta, with reasonable traffic. Located on the right side of the highway 85 when heading south. Just Brew It is located in a complex called the Rainbow Center, which is quite easy to miss. |
