| Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | June 21, 2009 Around the corner from Winkler, a solid Amberg stop. Small restaurant-cafe with good, friendly service and mostly an older crowd. Impressive beers make it well worth the visit. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | June 11, 2009 Old people’s bar with tasty house brews (brewed by Winkler down the road). The service was good and the vibe was pleasant. | | chriso (161), London, England | | March 28, 2009 This place stopped brewing in 1994 but the beers are still available, brewed at Winkler nearby. As you are probably going to hit Winkler Brauwirt (not the same location as the brewery) anyway, and this is just a few steps along the same street, you will have no excuse not to stop in here to get the Schiessl beers. We did exactly that. You can get the Schiessl beers elsewhere in the town, including at the Winkler brewery, it is nicer to drink them where they were originally brewed I think Looked a pleasant old place but, in view of the hot weather, everyone was in the courtyard and we followed suit, so didn’t have much of a nosey around or soak up any atmosphere. Didn’t eat. | | Bierkrug (85), Idar-Oberstein (temp in DC), Germany | | January 22, 2009 Former Tap Schiessl Brewery. Still serves the beer brewed next door at Winkler Brewery. Fine place lots of history and a great beer courtyard in the warm season. Food is great lokal fare. |
