June 19, 2009 Nice shady patio area. Not a grandma place. Excellent beers and above-average food with lots of non-German options like flatbread pizzas. |

June 11, 2009 More modern brewpub with good pizzas and tasty beer. In the middle of the old town. Well worth a stop in Amberg. |

April 17, 2009 Iliked this place and went there three times in two days. The selection is not wide but it has a good offering for a southern german brewpub. Music on one evening and good fun food. Amberg has only a few real brewerys operating desoite claim of having 11, and this one is a good one with central location |

March 28, 2009 A clean and modern place with a covered courtyard in front. Stays open later than most places in the old town. Busy, but laid back when we visited at about 1130pm on a Friday night. Clientele was mainly 30s/40s - not a loud, young sort of place. The usual "holy trinity" of German brewpub staples - Helles, Dunkel and Hefeweizen on tap. Solid enough but nothing spectacular. A pleasant enough spot to linger over our last couple of beers before turning in at our hotel just round the corner. Didn’t eat but they were still serving food. |

September 2, 2008 [ Updated September 22, 2009 ] Not your typical German brewery for sure, a very modern brewpub. Food is modern mixwith old style. Beers are also good with a small selection. |

September 3, 2007 A very modern brewpub opened in 1998, somewhat like a brewpub in USA, and therefore far from the usual German brewpub/bierstube. The bierstube is quite dark, but dominated by a beutifully shining copper kettle. 4 beers on draft - 3 of own production and Kummert Pils. This place just isn’t German, but the food is OK. |

August 4, 2007 brewpub in the historic centre of Amberg, near the famous town hall. 3 beers on tap, 2 bottled beers available, a Weizen and a Dunkles with smoked malt. Pleasant seating and friendly staff. Standard Bavarian dishes on offer. |
