| Beershine (261), Where Climate Suits My Clothes, Vietnam | | June 19, 2009 Nice open place we visited on the way out of town, springtime but biergarten was open. Unfortunately I don’t remember a whole lot of details about the place, but I quite liked their beers. | | Oakes (421), gone rambling, Vietnam | | June 11, 2009 Nice biergarten, pretty building and good service. The beers weren’t bad, but they weren’t great...sort of average for the Amberg brewers. I liked the Kurpfalz Hefe the best IIRC. | | chriso (161), London, England | | March 28, 2009 We debated whether to give this place a miss as it is a little way from the centre and we had plenty of things to do in the old town. I’m glad we didn’t. On a balmy evening the bier garden was buzzing and very busy. 10 of their own beers - 5 on draught and 5 in bottle. We stuck with the draught offerings as we still had things to do back in the old town. Only went inside to use the toilets so can’t really comment on the atmosphere or decor in there (except it was empty). All the action was in the garden. We did have some food but it was just a wurst snack rather than a full meal as we were not really hungry but the bigger dishes looked good. Service was efficient. Ruhetag is Thursday. Note the 0100 closing time, which is later than most of the other places in Amberg so you could finish up here to make maximum use of time. Also note that the route out of town to Kummert goes directly past the Toom Getrankemarkt, which is handy if you need to buy some beer. | | Ungstrup (245), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | September 8, 2007 A very beutiful and classical place with high cealinged rooms, benches along the walls with polstered seats on both benches and chairs. The elderly men at the stammtisch sings beutifully. Very competent service. 5 beers on draft and 5 in bottles. And the food was the best I had on my trip to Germany, dear schnitzel with gemuse, mandelbällchen and a blackberry sauce. |
