| chriso (161), London, England | | November 20, 2009 Visited March 2009. Bustling spot (mid-evening anyway) under the railway arches. Beers are solid enough without being exciting. Food was decent although I can’t remember what we ate. Considering how busy it was, service was prompt and friendly. Especially as I had to run straight past a line of people waiting to be seated to empty a dangerously overfull bladder. There was a short wait for a table but they said the wait would be 5 minutes and it was. | | Theis (80), , Denmark | | November 14, 2009 Big archy place - touristy, not that cosy. The beers are good, clean. Service is fast and nice. The food was buffet, but they also have a la carte. | | downender (116), Bristol, England | | October 12, 2009 Visited 27/09/09. Enjoyable place to visit, with good food (Schweinshaxe was tasty) and decent, if expensive, beers. | | ladnewton (60), London, England | | July 18, 2009 [ Updated September 27, 2009 ] Made pilgrimage to this brewpub during autumn break in Berlin. The pub appears to have been extended since my last visit, but otherwise the brews and food menu is unchanged. Could not believe I was recognised again after three years! The pils was excellent and so was Original. Enjoyed the special brew for Oktoberfest. There was only room to sit at the bar on my arrival suggesting the brewpub must be doing something right. Food recommendation: try the Nürnberg sausages with sauerkraut and "bratkartoffel" (fried potato pieces with onion). Delicious, and goes well with the "Original" | visionthing (2), , Norway does not count - explanation | | May 22, 2009 Nice place for some beer and maybe some food too, but I prefer the other Lemke (right next to the Charlottenburg castle) | | nate2g (151), Brisbane, Australia | | December 26, 2008 I enjoyed my time at Lemke and the beers are decent. The food is pretty good and the waitstaff were very friendly and were happy for me to order the sample tray. A nice place to relax and take a break after pounding the pavement in Berlin. | | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | July 29, 2008 This became my favorite spot to grab a brew while in Berlin. It is very close to Alexanderplatz and worth a stop if you are in the area. They only have four beers on tap at a time. My favorite of the four I had was the Pils. Nice outdoor seating in the back, only problem is the noise from the occasional train overhead (it is under commuter rail tracks). The food is very good. We had pretzels, the spatzle and a sausage plate. Service was good for Berlin (overall my experience with service in the city was mixed) | | KnutAlbert (150), Oslo, Norway | | June 27, 2008 Freindly, airy place with outdoor seating at the back. Good beers, both the regulars and the seasonal.
Fine sample tray.
Lunchtime buffet looked tempting. | | lassem (24), Copenhagen, Denmark | | June 16, 2008 The place is situated under the railway/u-bahn which is both cool but also a bit noisy. The selection of beers range to 5 or 6 so you can easily get through them all :-) If you not have alot of time go for the samples in 10cl glasses. The beer is good, not very experimental, but allright. The darker it gets - the better it gets. Allways worth a visit...i´ve been there three times and will for sure go there again. Good atmosphere. | | gnoff (127), Göteborg, Sweden | | June 11, 2008 Visited on June 5, 2008. In ’GBG Germany’ listed as pub number 8 under Mitte, page 446. Located in one of the arc’s below the S-Bahn. Looks almost the same inside as Mitte which we visited just before interior design, menus, sample trey is the same. Beer is better here though. Also feels cozier, though the frequent S-Bahns above was quite disturbing. Nice and clean toilets, even for Germany’s high standards. Service was OK, selcetion rather limited to their own brews. Did not eat. The sample trey is nice looking and a very good idea. |
