Easy to spot in the middle of the impressive Sony Center with its futuristic architecture. Busy, noisy and partially crowded place with polite, but rather slow service. I sat by their sterling silver kettle drinking their only hand-crafted beer, a very tasteful Weissbier in its regular edition. They also served a few decent beers from Traunstein vom Fass (visited 21.11.2009).

Modern place in the undeniably impressive Sony Centre. Bustling and lively when we visited mid-evening. Efficient and friendly service, obviously used to plenty of tourists, but the clientele seemed mainly German on our visit. Just one of their own beers made in the rather gimmicky silver brewing kettle. The other 3 beers come from Hofbrauhaus Traunstein, which apparently owns the place. That was OK with me as I needed two of them. Food was solid German brewpub fare. Worth a quick visit but there wasn’t really anything to keep us here once we had eaten and tried the beers I needed. Note that there are a couple of other, recently opened, places in the same mini-chain in town (One is in the hotel right next to the Brandenburg Gate and I forget where the other one is) but you won’t find any different beers there.

Good central location and a decent pitstop while in Berlin. The beers are average as is the food but worth checking out. Not a bad looking establishment and the people keep it interesting.

An ordinary brewpub in a fantasic environment inside the Sony centre at Potsdammer Platz. A bit hectic due to the popularity of the location, and the place was a bit understaffed with slow service as a consequence. Nevertheless, this place is a must, and wait for the darkness to get the most out of it.

Visited on June 5, 2008. In ’GBG Germany’ listed as pub number 19 under Tiergarten, page 449. Inside the Sony Center. The sterling silver brewing kettle is supposed to be one of a kind. Very cool ambiance though! Worth going for the very cool buiding alone. Filled up outside beer garden. Not very fast nor very good service. Beers were OK. Did not eat.

A real tourist trap that shouldn’t be first on your list if in Berlin. It’s a big place with lots of tables (and chairs obviously) and efficient waiters. They were always in a hurry, and seemed to care more for bringing more beers or food, than they collected used glasses. Finished my beer and headed for the Bierfestival instead.

A nice place in Sony Center, near bustling Potsdamer Platz. Good when you’re visitIng Gemaldegalerie or Kunstgewerbemuseum, two excelent museumS in the kulturforum. Very good selection of food but not many variety in beers. The Weizens are well represented. I tried their weizen, good but not outstanding. A nice place to go if you’re visiting the area but not a "beer cathedral".

Hmmm. Certainly enjoyed the house beer but not much character to this place at all, ensconced in the Sony Centre. Then again I never would have found w/out Ratebeer and it’s across the street from my hotel. The Traunstein beers were better.

Poor location for a very big pub that is obviously aimed at tourist. Only one beer available for my visit, a weizen, which was okay, but you can’t say much about the selection. Worth a very quick visit, but no beer geek flag.

A huge brewpub in the midlle of the most touristic Berlin. Managed to get a table on a rainy sunday afternoon, and it was worth it. The brewpubweisse is good and apart from that they served 3 different beers from Hofbrauhaus Traunstein. The food is excellent and worth a try.
