Immy | Decent place, not too busy when we were there. Attentive servers pouring a middling kolsch. Not a bad stop, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

pivnizub | Old traditional brewpub, less authentic than Malzmühle or Päffgen or Pfaffen serving Kösch from a macro-brewer... A visit there is not really necessary, save Your money for Päffgen or Lommerzheim or Max Stark !

Rastacouere | Rather typical atmosphere in this loud pub, mostly dark and decorated with the usual dark wooden panels. Patrons on the terrace seemed to be mostly tourists, but inside, many could-be locals are eating and drinking in great quantities. Expeditive service and the kölsch itself is average to above average for the city.

ALLOVATE | "Ahhh, lost, lets have lunch!" came my wife." Why here ist gut, Sion, vieleicht", I answered in my questionable broken Deutsch. ’One of the best’ I should have said. On the downer slope of Köln mitte, orientation was crap so I couldn’t’ decipher north from south. Just down from the Kölner Dom sounds better. Quiet side alley, souvenir shop across, as a Russki Fabergé egg dealer with some hardcore ’real’ vodka’s up for sale. Bräuhaus itself was simple, smart, brown and long interior, one beer, one glass and traditional in all sense of the Kölner wort. Kobe’s are very polite and dearly missed as our waiters in Oz suck and are poor at their job. Wurst by ein Meter makes for ample pig intake to diet that was fantastisch, schmackhaft und yum!!! A very nice Bräuhaus we ate at twice, got lost at once and could thank the owners many times. Welcoming they were, Kölsch was a nice drop for breakfast or sup, and the place has a backstreet café feel. Prost!!!

acrdz | Located within shouting distance from Peter’s Brauhaus, near the Dom, the only part of this place I saw was the bar area located immediately inside the front door. The decor and design was nice, very proper German, maybe a bit flashy or touristy. Beer quality was lacking, the Sion Kolsch was one of my least favorites had while in Koln. Otherwise, a decent place, and you have to visit it when doing the Koln Kolsch beer tour... you know, where you aspire to drink every Kolsch made in town in one day.

mds | Giant hall and all sorts of boisterous Germans about shouting and smoking cigars and anything else that could possibly pollute the air. Typically no ambiance here. The service was fairly swift though and the food was decent German fare.

imdownthepub | Amid the tourist throngs you can cut into this one. No sooner than sitting down under a handy parasol than we were joined by masses of Bayern Munich fans, yes we picked the weekend that FC Cologne were hosting the biggest club in Germany. So for us the atmosphere is somewhat raucous and the service strained. They soon found out we were English and that my team were languishing near the bottom of the Premier, but by heck we had a great lunchtime session there. I would recomend wholeheartedly.

| cyberbeer | Just visited 8/20/05... after a downpour emptied the city, stumbled upon this brauhaus and had a fantastic experience. Their Kolsch is premium, the wait staff was fantastic, and the atmosphere could not be beat. We enjoyed great food with perhaps the best potato salad I found in the city, and imbibed Sion Kolsch and turned a rainy miserable evening into an unforgettably positive one. I miss the place already.

Braudog | Last visit June 2001. Definitely among the better of numerous Kölsch spots, albeit one of the more touristy. Can’t miss it.

Daniel_Brown | Boom!, an awesome, traditional looking German drinking hole. Excellent, smartly dressed waiters, whizz around with trays full of delicious Sion, and it was packed with older Cologne folk, chomping on substantial looking pork products. Dangerously pleasant, we literally had to tear ourselves away, and this is real highlight, once again, slap-bang in the centre of Cologne.
