July 30, 2009 If you are only visiting one pub in town and want to eat as well as drink great beer, you won’t go wrong here. I’ts a shame that typical German hostelaries lose marks on the beer selection criteria. I’m marking it high here because there is an unparrelelled choice of Altbiers available within a few minutes walk. Your limited choice here will only be the freshest beer you’ll ever taste too. No gambles on stale slow movers here chaps. It gets extreamely crowded in here and unlike most of the other Altbier bars in town there is no standing area here. However, locals are usually happy to move up and share a table and banter with you. Food is hearty and reasonably priced. Try the Rabbit, it’s a house speciality. This place is world class. |

May 12, 2009 Probably the best of the four I visited in Dusseldorf. I saw some olympics and the waiters were nice. |

March 30, 2009 A quite large and very crowded place. Beautiful beers (as well the Alt as the Weizen). Slightly out of the way but definitely worth a visit. |

January 26, 2009 Very busy but good atmosphere. They place was completely full and crowded. Staff friendly but too busy. The food was ok, but it’s like a German style MacDonalds. Standard stuff and they serve it within 10 minutes. The beer is good. Silberfuchsen and Weihnachtsbier only available in bottles and only for take away. |

January 14, 2009 Visited late December 2008. Nice rather typical and cozy place. Tried the alt as well as the bottled weizen. Teh waitor was fast, but a bit typically rude, from what I understand. Got a pea and vegetable soup with wurst which was nice and well worth the money. Did not check out the toilets. |

September 21, 2008 A bit out of the way, but certainly worth walking to. Very goo, malty alt, and a nice atmosphere. I went on a Friday afternoon, so there was quite a lot of room inside and it was very comfortable. |

January 21, 2008 A cool place that needs even more space it was nuts-to-butts on both our visits. Smoky too, of course. Nice beer. Close to the excellent K20 museum, so you can take in some surrealists before throwing back a few. If this place is too crowded, head down a few doors to the Uel... trendier but less packed, and serving the same fresh Fuchsen beer. |

January 17, 2008 Showed up here in the middle of a River Carnival, and the placed was packed, rowdy, and noisy. The guests were great, though, and a good time was had. The beer selection is limited to only their altbier and weizenbier, but the quality of the altbier was quite good. As with all German / European establishments, you have to be ready for some smoke. Tables in the overflow area (which is the only place we could sit) were finished kegs. |
