There was a big construction undertaking on the building right next to it when I was there, so the atmosphere felt pretty darn poor. The building seemed a bit dull compared to other Düsseldorf hangouts. The only outlet of the Schumacher-Brauerei in the middle of the Altstadt; more a bourgeois restaurant than a Brauhaus. Located in the middle of the Altstadt, and directly across the street from Schlussel. The beer was decent enough, but not one of the better ones in town. The food was pretty impressive, had the Schweineschnitzel with white asparagus and potatoes, very tasty. Sampled the Jong as well, which really was not very good at all. Just in front of the Zum Schlüssel, this pub sells the beers of the mother brewery Ferdinand Schumacher Brewpub; their Alt is quite ok, not the best in the city.
