September 2, 2008 [ Updated September 14, 2008 ] This place is a surprise for sure. I have been going there for years, and often plan my flights with a couple of hours layover just so I can get a beer or too here.
Beer prices are like in a small country pub but in the middle of the airport. Beer is good and servise is good. They do get you with the food prices so eat somewhere else. But I only know of two airports with a brewery here and Singipore |

March 9, 2008 Visited central area location on way back of Austria ski trip. This is a huge pub and pretty upscale too. I was quite impressed considering how good the beers were, and very affordable. They even let me taste one in a half pint glass for 50 euro cent. Staff spoke almost no English but seemed enthusiastic about their beer. Food also looked quite good. Very pleasantly surprised. |

February 6, 2008 I was there a few years ago, I was not flying, I just went for the beers, in the central area. Good news to have a real German brewpub in an airport. I kinda liked their beers. |

December 26, 2007 Located between Terminals 1 and 2 with a large beer garden outside. Inside, red and gray stone tile floor, 15-foot ceilings, all glass exterior, wooden tables and chairs. Large S-shaped open kitchen and bar. Right half of room is non-smoking. Live music on Thursdays. Sunday brunch. Menu in German and English. Lunches from 4-7 Euro, house specialties 8-13 Euro. Wheelchair accessible. 5 and 10 litres available to go. 1/2 litre for 2.40 Euro, 2 litre siphon (large green ceramic swing-top) for 8 Euro. Two standard house beers and a seasonal at times. The most civilized airport craft beer location I have seen. |

October 15, 2007 Visited the Terminal 2, H-gates outlet at 7:45 am. Nice to be able to stop into a brewpub for a quick good clean German beer on a short layover in the airport. They only had 2 beers on tap, I didn’t eat, but the Weisswurst Christian SA enjoyed for breakfast look alright. The service was just a tad slow - maybe because of the time of day? but very friendly. For an airport I found the place cozy with a wooden bar counter and wooden chairs and tables - like a mordern version of a traditional brewpub - but for brewpubs I like a bit more wear and tear. |

August 3, 2007 I was outside of security zone, next to U-bahn station. You can’t get much better price/quality-ratio for beers at any airport! Service was ok and place was airy and something what you could expect. Actually I was not even flying though Munich airport, but just visited during my stay in the city ... |

June 25, 2007 Visited Airbräu twice, once when arriving tp the airport and once when leaving. Didn’t have time tp stay and eat any of the times. Though the prices for food seemed a lot less than the ones charged inside the airport and also the beer price where not that high. Nice with a small beer garden even so very close to the airport, just outside Termial 2 and befoire going down to the S-Bahn to München. I only visited the self service area where you pay for your beer at the register and then get it poured, but they seemed to have good service at the part of the garden that had "table service". They had two standard beers on tap, a weizen and a hell. Seemed quite popular both times I was there and also the food I saw others eating while having my beers looked nice. |

February 1, 2007 [ Updated October 8, 2008 ] A brewpub in an airport is a good idea, but looking at the promotional material, this seems to be more geared towards people workering here than travellers. Their beers ahve gotten better over the years, both the regulars, a weisse and a pils and their seasonals. Good food, too, check out their list of daily specials. |

April 26, 2006 9 a.m. Terminal Two. Lovely time for a beer. Decent airport atmosphere and a half liter of beer for just $2 is a pretty good way to say goodbye to a country that treated us so well. Not many beers of their own on tap though. And...I wasn’t the only person drinking that early in the morning either. Bless this country. |
