Medium sized place right behind Marienplatz. I was there on Tuesday around 2 p.m. and there was plenty of free tables. Lots of religiously picturs and paintings on the walls and ceiling. On each table are excellent spicy mini sausages for free. Unfortunately Andechser Jubiläumsbier Dunkel Naturtrüb is no longer avaliable.

Nice little place right behind the Dom. Sat outside, couldn’t sit inside if we wanted to, it was so packed. That was fine by us! Excellent service and delicious food, but really you’re there for the beer, which is lovely!

Sort of had a modern feel to it, with a small bar section where a rowdy crowd was watching a football match, then a restaurant side that was sparsely population, then an outdoor patio area that was full. The beer quality, of course, is excellent, and should be the reason to visit. Fresh Andescher Doppelbock Dunkel from the keg is pure magic, and the helles is respectable as well.

This place was recomended by both the Good Beer Guide to Germany and also a group of thre Germans who we met in the nearby Ratskeller who said it was their favourite beer. The beers which I had were all very good indeed, atmosphere was more like that of an English pub than Barvarian, was busy both on the Thursday night when we went here and almost as busy the following lunchtime. Great location next to the Cathedral (easy to find) and staff were really friendly and by heck do they work hard. Member of staff who served me seemed particularly impressed that I had the Good Beer Guide to Germany and was asking for one of their very difficult to find beers.

Quite noble Gasthaus, compared to the Hofbräuhaus.... a good place for thosewho want to sample the Andechser beers from the tap. Sometimes the quite rare Andechser Jubiläum (unfiltered) is available here. Good place..............

Found this in "Good Beer Guide Germany" by Steve Thomas and made my way there during my third evening in Munich to try some beers. Had four different ones from the tap while talkig to some young Italian ladies that also were enjoying the beers of the place. Did no eat. Very cozy around the church in the sort of "inner yard" feeling.

April 2007 - Nice small corner bar with limited seating inside and 2 outdoor seating areas. Fresh Andechser bier makes it a must stop, located at the foot of the Frauenkirche.

A lovely ’blink-and-you miss-it’ bar tucked neatly aside the massive edifice of the Frauenkirche. Small interior but enough seating outside to soak up the Bavarian sun. Mixed crowd of young and old, mostly business-types enjoying a lunch and a few bevvies. Service was great, the waiters polite and efficient as is normal in all of Deutschland. And the food - ample, tasty and well-presented, not entirely local fare which is good. Nice collection of photos inside, wood panelled bar, rest-rooms downstairs, and, more importantly, is the Andechser biers vom fass and available in the bottle for home consumption. Nice and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle and aside one of the most beautiful buildings in München. Nice!!!

A really nice tap room and restaurant, slightly tucked away from the hustle and bustle but right in the thick of things. Most of their offerings were available on tap, and the place had a very classy feel to it. On the steps going down to the bathroom and all around the lower level, there are some awesome pics of the monks throwing back beers with the general public. Priceless. I’d say make it to the monestary in Andechs if you can. If you can’t, it’s necessary you hit this place. If it were me (and it was) - I’d hit both.
