September 4, 2009 Outstanding recreated interior, with small booths. For someone like me who has only had the bottled export beers there was a lot of rating to do as well. A very nice visit |

September 30, 2008 The best place to try Samuel Smith’s beers in the capital - the Old Brewery here is particularly good. Recently restored Interior is stunning - a superb example of High Victorian. As with all of Smith’s pubs the prices don’t hurt the wallet too much. |

July 5, 2007 It’s a Sam Smiths - one real ale, Old Brewery Bitter, but that’s a good one. So what else? Victorian, Victorian, Victorian. Glass, Glass, Glass. Tile, Tile, Tile. Stained glass in the Gent’s. It’s close to Lincoln’s Inn, so you may have to tolerate lawyers, but at least the British lawyers are tolerable. Gammell rates the cuisine as outstanding. Interesting mix of people. Don’t miss this one! |

July 4, 2007 [ Updated September 6, 2007 ] I can only repeat the earlier comments. Visit this pub for the interior rather than its products. The Sam Smith’s beers are ok but it was a better pub under the previous owners. |

October 9, 2006 Superb pub with wonderful interior including the gents toilets! A pub that I always try to pop into when in this area of London. Beer choice is very limited i.e. only the Sam Smiths OBB as a cask choice but great range of Sam Smiths beers in bottles. Pub was busy when I visited on Tues 3rd October and I must say it was looking a little bit unkempt particularly the gents toilets. |

September 20, 2006 Go there to look at the architecture, have a pint, then move on to pubs with more interesting beers! |

September 17, 2006 Interior is fantastic - old and stylish. The place to rate Samuel Smith’s beers. Lots of people also here. |

March 15, 2005 Sam Smith’s brewed under license Ayingerbrau Weissbier the only exception to the rule "avoid anything brewed under license" I’ve ever come across.
Their own draught lager is excellent too. Don’t let the real-ale obsessives tell you theres nothing worth drinking at the Pricess Louise.
Their regular bitter is worth avoiding but the pub isn’t. |

February 7, 2005 Richly ornate interior. Roaring fireplace. The full selection of Sam Smiths awful beers. And some smelly toilets that many people feel are worth seeing. I didn’t quite get the attraction of the toilets - but they are certainly popular enough that the pub puts a sign outside stopping casual visitors from using them. You have to buy a beer to get admittance. |
