| rabidbarfly (12), London, England | | May 25, 2009 Harvey’s pub run very nicely, beer is good quality but if you’re looking for choice try somewhere else. Not a Harveys fan but had heard, quite rightly, good things about this pub. The Sunday roast is excellent and I had a very good pint of mild whilst in there. | | nate2g (151), Brisbane, Australia | | December 26, 2008 A great little old pub with Harveys ale available from the cask. Very vibrant place and had a great night here chatting with the locals. The staff are friendly and there are some interesting characters who hang out here. A must visit in London. | | footy (11), scottsdale, Arizona | | December 19, 2008 A beautiful historic pub in Southwark run extremely well by Frank Taylor. The ales, all Harveys are exceptionally well kept. Did not eat but others were and it looked good. Mr. Taylor was very pleasant to talk to and gave excellent service. Defintely in the top 5 of my favorite pubs in London. | | TimE (130), Tokyo, Japan | | October 22, 2008 Great food, good atmosphere, though a bit slow service. Still, if you want to try Harvey’s this is the place to go - and I love Harvey’s. | | Svesse (88), Hässelby, Sweden | | October 18, 2008 Lovely street corner pub not far from Borough tube station, firmly tucked away from the busy Borough High Street. Five cask ales from Harveys, including seasonals, and a good selection of Harveys bottled beers. The cask ales are always in excellent condition and they probably serve the best Sussex Best Bitter outside of Lewes. Very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent pub food comes in generous helpings. Inhabited by friendly locals, hardly a tourist in sight, except for the odd lucky beer tourist. One of my favourite London pubs. | Albertcampion (7), , England does not count - explanation | | October 7, 2008 Very pleasant pub with some nice features and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Beer was initially disappointing - eggy and flat - but improved as the night went on. Have to say I prefer the Harvey’s at the Harp. Food was excellent, according to my companions. I’ll be back. | | HogTownHarry (24), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario | | September 22, 2008 Worth searching for near Borough station - my wife (who is British) and I wanted atmosphere, good food, and I wanted 8 the casks! We were there two hours on a jet-lagged Saturday evening until nine p.m. - never crowded but not empty, plenty of locals (and their well-behaved dogs), a table of young turk City business types enjoying decent cider and real ale ... anyway, the food is excellent (lamb & apricot pie and 3 veg!) and a solid selection of regular items and specials, 6 Harveys taps including a seasonal, Harveys Imperial and Brown ale in the bottle, a good selection of ciders .... very nearly my favorite London pub now - I’ll be returning. | | lada66 (46), Savonlinna, Finland | | September 11, 2008 I was there just before the closing time on Sunday (They are closing at 6 pm.). A nice quiet place ( at that time ). A very friendly service. I had a good time to make acquainted with Harveys Imperial Extra Doudle Stout (9%, bottle). Harvey´s and Sussex Ales on Tap (3.8.2008). | | downender (116), Bristol, England | | August 2, 2008 Visited mid-afternoon on 1 August 2008. Fairly busy two-bar pub with customers being a mixture of locals, tourists and office workers. Harveys’ beers were very enjoyable as was the food, and staff were friendly. Pleasant wood panelling and prints decor. Would definitely visit again. | | FatPhil (121), Espoo, Finland | | July 14, 2008 I used to really like Harveys, until one unfortunate trip here where almost every beer (which was a fair few) tasted like it was made by Greed Kerching - sulphur-central, alas. YMMV. I’m prepared to give it another shot, certainly. Pleasant traditional pub ambiance. |
