Sicuramente il miglior pub di Londra, con un’ottima selezione e una grande competenza nel servizio. Ambiente caldo adatto per gustarsi al meglio le loro birre

Very dark and dank with a large bar in the center of the building, surrounded by a seating area that wrapped around the building with booths and high top tables. On the top of the bar and on a shelf wrapping around the building there were very old vintage bottles of different beers from around the world. These bottles were covered in dust and cobwebs adding to the romanticized surreal atmosphere of this place. There is a large chalkboard of the real ales available and in the front of the bar there is a line of handles for the casks, probably ten different real ales. There was a live band but unlike any live band I’ve seen in a pub/bar. It was three old men playing sea shanties and old folk songs. One was playing a piano, barrel-house style, one on washboard and one playing a trumpet. This music just added to amazing atmosphere of this odd neighborhood pub. Another characteristic that adds to the atmosphere of this place were the local patrons. I pulled up to the bar and soon was surrounded by the oddest assortment of people I’ve ever been around. Lots of crusty blue collar neighborhood people, fishermen, a schizophrenic babbling Irishman who would blurt something out and then start cackling and a dwarf. As soon as I sat down some tall toothless blonde haired man looked at me and exclaimed, "I’m fuckin’ pissed" in a cockney accent. Later on in the evening I watched him waltz with the dwarf who I met earlier. This place had so many colorful characters that it almost seemed like a dream to me. It was like something Bunuel and Dali would put in one of their early films. The service at this place was excellent. All of the bartenders were very young but very attentive and knowledgeable. They had a very good variety of bitters, milds, stouts, esbs, etc. They had at least ten beers on cask as well as the standard Guinness, Fosters and the dreaded Guinness Cold. The only problem if you could call it that was that it mainly focused on domestic beers and not much from outside of the UK. I absolutely loved this place. This was definitely the best pub I visited in London and possibly my favorite drinking establishment in the world. I wish I could go back there tonight. I could not recommend this place any higher!

A wonderful, real place local and at the same time a specialty beer pub. Nothing fancy about the interior - I like it that way, and nothing fancy about the beer list on the blackboard. Only the beer itself, which is rare and changing often. I have only been there twice, but both times I had one outstanding and new beer. Doesn’t happen in every London pub...

A typical English pub out of the centre of London. They got several beers on cask and bottle. The staff is friendly and the serves is good. The atmosphere is good. A lot of different people. The prices are reasonable

Legendary, back street traditional boozer, easily reachable from Angel or Old Street underground stations as it is halfway up the City Road, behind the Texaco filling station. If travelling by bus routes 43, 205, 214 or 394 ask for Windsor Terrace. Constantly changing range of beers from breweries ranging in dimension from small regional to micro. The pub frequently provides a beer from Crouch Vale, Dark Star and Mighty Oak. Occasional festivals are held in the autumn, and there is often a rarity or novelty ale on tap. A handful of Belgian beers are available from the fridge, and a real cider is always stocked. Food, served lunchtime and early evening, consists mainly of the pub’s speciality sandwiches known colloquially as sandwedges - try the salt beef. Cornish pasties are also available; for anything more substantial than this you would be well advised to telephone the pub. Jazz and blues nights are featured every weekend. On Friday evenings there is two hours of traditional old jazz featuring trumpet, banjo and piano, whilst Saturdays have four different bands on a rotational basis. When a month contains five Saturdays the Frog Island jazz band feature on the 5th Saturday. After the main jazz sessions local pianists will occasionaly sit in for an hour or so. Further piano music is performed on Sunday afternoons. The pub attracts a loyal local following and regularly receives customers from further afield including overseas vistors who become smitten once here for the first time. The Wenlock is a true gem, and is worthy of a journey, no matter how far, to discover its secrets. Wholly recommended.

This place is a great spot to knock back some real ales. The staff is real friendly, selection is good, prices are reasonable, food is decent (maybe it’s because norwegians hardly season food, but the mustard on that salt beef sandwich damn near killed me), and the atmosphere is great. Highly reccommended.

Great atmosphere, lots of casks that are changed very often (I was quite unlucky the day I went though). A must place. Nice touch with old bottles in the ceiling as a decor. MagicDave6 also showed me an unopened Alexander there !

A real London Gem! Real Ale, real sandwiches, and real people, in ’ackney. Never had a wrong’un in here. The only time I have had iffy beer it’s because of the beer not being to my taste. Just round the corner from BeerExposed - Islington Design Museum, handy.

What gets me about this place, is hardly anyone has mentioned to Salt Beef sandwich. This is a must! Ask for a food menu and get the sandwich with the works. Otherwise, not much else to say that hasn’t been said. The best place in London to drink beer hands down. A MUST when you are in London. I guess I was surprised by how average the decor is, but the atmosphere, including dogs sniffing my food and friendly banter between regulars makes a great atmosphere. Also, great prices
