Visited here in October ’09. Excellent selection - even by Whole Foods standards. All of the Hawaiian micros are represented as well as plenty of west coast gems - Hair of the Dog and Deschutes are what I picked up. Some obscure Germans I had never seen before also grabbed my attention - d’Inn’staade and Weissenohe - which I hd never seen before. All in al - probably have at least 200 different beers and abut averaged price considering this is Hawaii. Some of the bombers were around six dollars. Food selection, like all Whole Foods was excellent.

Well, since Whole Foods was added to rb I suppose I might as well have first say. First off, Whole Foods as an establishment is a welcome addition to Honolulu, as it caters to a gourmet (and middle class) food loving niche of residents. The prices also reflect this. They have a decent selection of beers for Hawaii, but the big disappointment is that they didn’t bring any new beers here with their name and assumed large-scale shipping/distribution. Bottom line: if you are looking for great beer, Whole Foods will have slightly less variety than other top liquor stores in Honolulu (wine stop, Liquor Collection), with considerable overlap. It is convenient though if you live on the east side.
