4 reviews for Binny’s Beverage Depot (Hyde Park)
| Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 10, 2008 This was a very small location with a limited, but decent beer selection. Aisles are tight, but they squeeze in as much stuff as they can. The beer manager was knowledgable and friendly. I walked out of there with a couple beers that I wasn’t able to find elsewhere, perhaps due to slow turnover as this store isn’t as frequently visited as others. Not bad. | | StewardofGondor (122), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin | | March 6, 2006 Tight space, limited selection. Very scant offerings from regional breweries compared to other area stores (Bells, Founders, etc.) Also missing a few from Victory and no Jolly Pumpkin anywhere. When I asked the guy working the store if they had any Jolly Pumpkin, he told me it was seasonal. I told him that may be true for some of their offerings, but there should be something available. He pretended he didn’t hear me, that he thought I said "Lolly Pumpkin." His next reply was "no." Waste of time. | | NobleSquirrel (55), Chicago, Illinois | | August 19, 2005 This is pretty much the coolest liquor store I’ve been too, mostly because nothing turns over. There was still Dark Lord last time I was there, as well as a ton of Breakfast stout. Basically, I just like this one because it’s nearby and has as good a selection as the downtown location. | | npdempse (16), St. Petersburg, Florida | | August 16, 2005 Very nice selection for a neighborhood beer store. The buyer makes sure to stock all the new and interesting beers of the Midwest they can--so this is a great source for things like 3Floyds Dark Lord and Founders Breakfast stout. Selection of imports is also solid, with trappists well represented, and a smattering of interesting English brew. Staff is quite knowledgeable and friendly--in addition to beer, they can steer you to the right wine or whisk(e)y. |
