Saturday night 7/12/08. This place is loud, had karaoke with a live band, and was crammed full of people but we still got a table. I was expecting a hippy-ish place but this is a sports bar. Pizza, fortunately was quite good.

Went here after Maproom. Understanding that this would be a step down from the previous bar helped alot and prevented a tremendous letdown upon entering. I was told they had karaoke that night.....dear Lord, but it was full-band karaoke.......uh, ok? Does it really make a difference? While I despise this form of entertainment, I found the bands tolerable and the lead singers actually a bit capable of pulling off a somewhat entertaining performance. The beer selection was better than expected with a smoked as well as a dark Belgian being offered. While their was a rather large contingent of frat-boys in attendance, I still found plenty of room to sit with my crew of 6 and nothing was intolerable as far as the crowd was concerned in regards to what other raters have stated.

The beers are pretty damn good and the pizza is completely phenomenal. The service can be a little sketchy especially if you’re not ordering food, but it can also be great. The space is incredible, and they have some interesting local bands there fairly often. Piece is a great joint

To be avoided on Thursday night and probably Friday and Saturday nights too. 25 and you’re a veteran in this large annoyingly loud resto-pub/sport-bar. Extra-loud pop music, overcrowded with 300 22 years old kids. If it wasn’t bad enough I got treated with untalented Karaoke “performances”. My waitress was friendly and funny but the place was just too over-packed, I had to wait 30 minutes to order my first pint! Unacceptable, almost stressful for someone on a beer trip. I’m writing this on my laptop in the pub waiting for my first pint to finally arrive. Please someone kill the dude with the microphone. When you hear the sound of someone breaking the glass 100 people applaud, I kid you not. Oh crap they’re playing Vanilla Ice’s Can’t Stop This at extra loud volume right now. I wanna die. I truly hate the atmosphere. To all 25 years old and above beer-geeks reading this I say visit this place in the after-noon. Oh shit! Now there’s that awful voice doing a karaoke on Village People’s YMCA totally off-key… I need a rope. They had 6 of their own beers on tap with, 7 interesting gues t taps (3F Alpha King, Bar Republic, etc.) and a dozen of standard European imported bottles (Duvel, Schlenkerla, Saison Dupont, Fin du Monde, etc.). I only had two pints there and I was truly impressed. The Top Heavy Hefeweizen was one of the best I ever had, and their Cameltoe was truly a superior IIPA. However as good as the beer was (and it was EXCELLENT) I couldn’t stay there for more than 2 pints. Also on the plus side these guys can cook a mean pizza. I ate there and my pizza was in my all-time top-10 pizza. Still I hated the ambiance of that pub. Ok, now it’s getting funny, an Asian dude is karaoke-ing In-The-Navy and he cannot even get the lyrics right. I’m leaving anyway. I’ll come back one day, during the after-noon.

Visited 4/30/08. This seemed like a good jump off point. Early pm it was a ghost otwn, but the dinner rush was crazy. But it slowed to a crawl again later in the evening. Almost exclusively younger hipsters. We were there for a while drinking. 7 or so taps. Great pizza! Service was fantastic. Ffunny and knowledgable. The beers that they do well are very, very nice! But they have some dogs too. Totally worth another visit in the future!

I may have caught them at a bad time. I went with my wife after DLD. We went at noon. The place was empty but the waitress couldn’t seem to motivate herself to take our order or bring our food. The pizza was excellent. The beer was good but they were out of some so the selection was limited. I would go back though.

This was one of the must go to places on our DLD trip. We hit the place for lunch. Parking within 3 city blocks was not possible. Thankfully we knew not to even try and parked on a neighborhood side street and walked only a short, cold distance to the place. When we entered there were no customers. None. We were there around noon. We were seated quickly but the speedy service ended there. The terribly hung over waitress finally came and took our drink order. Disappointed to find that some of the signature beers were not available. Drinks finally arrived and we ordered food. Hubby got pizza and I ordered a sandwich. This took forever to get to us. His pizza was piping hot and delicious. My chicken parm sammy was a touch on the cold side and I ended up picking off the cheese and eating only half of it. Not to impressive but maybe thats what I get for ordering a sandwich in a pizza joint. Overall not to impressed with the place but hubby liked it okay.

Hands down the best place we visited while in Chicago. Pizza was out of this world, and the house brews were all great. Had some guest taps like Alpha King and other locals along with stuff like Bigfoot, or Old Foghorn, I believe and others too. Service was good, and the place is nice and clean and open on the inside with some tvs and a sweet bowling arcade game. I beat Crizay once, and he cheated the other 3 times beating me by 1 pin two times. Who fucking wins by 1 pin twice? B.S.
Awesome place, and a must stop in Chicago

How is the ratied at 70%? This place was awesome, nice wooden decor with a huge skylight on the top, very casual seating and a long ass bar. Food was awesome every pizza made is made to order and the beer had many different offerings of all styles. Only place we went to twice and having Silver Strike Bowling is always a plus in my book. Food was awesome, beer was awesome, very casual and Silver Strike. I’d be here way too much.

Stopped in here on my trip to Chicago. Pretty easy to find. Parking was a nightmare! Was here in the afternoon so they were not busy at all. Service, when received, was great, but, rather slow for as unbusy as they were. The service was my only criticism. We had the white pizza. I had never had a white pizza. It was delightful. Served prompt and hot! AND IT WAS HUGE!!! The beers were awesome. Interior was nice and I liked the large windows that were opened to the sidewalk. Defiinitely worth a visit...
