| satan165 (60), River Grove, Illinois | | September 6, 2008 more of a resturant that serves beer then the other way around, though that was all i expected. service was excellent on a saturday afternoon, food was slightly above average and beer was just about dead on average. it was worth a stop in and though i wouldnt necessarily recommend it, it wasnt a total loss. simiilar overall fare and feel to the ram, and i think id rather hang out there. | rednapx3 (4), , Isle of Man does not count - explanation | | August 11, 2008 used to work right down the street from this place. Food was decent for a bar. Not to bad on the quality for the beer they brew, never tried them all due to them having other beers I knew that would be better. Decent place, but downers grove can get annoying. It’s like barbies play land make ship come to life. | | Walt (185), Chicago, Illinois | | April 15, 2008 Mediocre service and mediocre beers...cool little suburb though... | | gws57 (86), Saint Charles, Illinois | | December 8, 2007 Visited for dinner on a Friday evening. A bit loud but not too bad. Felt a bit out of place since everyone was nicely dressed but that wasn’t a problem either. Got the sampler great beers, as usual, but only six of them, five of which were in the sampler, not including the seasonal. My buffalo burger was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Great experience. | | Kodos (10), | | October 2, 2007 I honestly went in with a relatively low expectation. I was really mistaken. I first sampled the Hefe on tap. Wow, this was the best Hefe i’ve ever tried. The waiter was extremely helpful/knowledgeable. The food was definately above average pub fare. If you just want dessert, look no further. The Raspberry Tiramisu was WAY too good. I’ll be a frequent customer! | | troyc (72), Lubbock, Texas | | June 22, 2007 Visited Emmett’s for the first time last week. It’s a clean, nice-looking place. Not too busy for a Friday night. Six of their beers were on tap, with the pale ale being the best. They also had bottles of a couple of other beers, including Lindeman’s Framboise and DH Indian Brown Ale. The food was pretty good along with the service. Will be back! | | kwoeltje (50), Manchester, Missouri | | November 25, 2006 Nice wood interior. Service on a Saturday afternoon was prompt and friendly. Fairly typical menu with an assortment of foods - burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, hot entrees. They had several very nice guest beers. I stuck with their own. Unfortunately they were out of their award winning pale ale. | | SubstanceT (114), Saint Louis, Missouri | | May 12, 2006 [ Updated October 19, 2006 ] Of the emmett’s this is probably #2/3 for me. Being palatine #1 and West Dundee as #3. I am quite the cheer leader for Emmett’s in general. So I wont say much other than I really like thier beer and in general feel that I am treated quite nicely here. | | ElGaucho (146), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | May 6, 2006 I was pleasantly surprised by this place. As you walk in there is a dining room to the right and a bar to the left. Both are very nice. I came in around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening and made perhaps the mistake of sitting at a bar table instead of at the bar, as I was by myself. I felt a little awkward as the place started filling up with groups of people wanting tables. As soon as I was done eating, I paid my tab and moved to the bar. Terri was my server and she was a little inattentive at first, but improved along the way. Early on I asked her if I could get the Emmett’s WIFI access code, and she simply replied "no". She set down my sampler without explaining anything about them, but like I said, she warmed up. My experience at the bar was excellent. Very good, very attentive, fairly knowledgeable service. Upscale place, fairly reasonable prices, and very good beer. Not a dog among them, and most were noteworthy. | jebert (9), Watertown, Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | April 30, 2006 Stopped here in April 2006.Great ambiance, big, friendly pub with lots of seating and nice bar to your left and good sized restaurant with two seperate rooms to the right. Wait staff very attentive, seemed knowlegable. Didn’t try the food but had the sampler platter with five 4 oz. beers and was given gratis 2 additonal seasonals. Nice selection, but as with most brew pubs selection is limited to what is currently being brewed. Beers were very good with an emphasis on hoppy ales. Nice place;worth searching out. |
