ElGaucho | I’ve been living within 3 miles of this place for 15 months and never really thought to go in there, partly because I don’t go by it that much. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The selection and commitment to beer is better than at the Forest Park location. The beer selection is also better than the Binny’s Glen Ellyn, which is where I usually go. The beer to wine space ratio is about 40-60 versus about 25-75 at Binny’s. One pleasant surprise was finding the Mikkeller Beer Geek breakfast which I hadn’t previously seen anywhere in the Chicago market (or any market for that matter). They have some different stuff like mini-kegs of Baltika 7 and the new Sam Adams Imperial Pils. They also have a make-your-own 6 pack section, which is limited but has quality beers unlike most stores looking to get rid of their crap. Of my 4 go-to West Suburb beer stores: Binny’s Glen Ellyn, Sam’s Downers, Sal’s Beverage World Elmhurst and now Famous, I like the beer selection at Famous the best and will be frequenting it more often.

JB175 | Grew up right down the road from this place and have since stopped in on return trips to the area. Decent selection of regional micros including Bells, GI special reserve, and others. Nothing amazing, bud did find some good singles that I have never seen on the East Coast

Cornfield | Nat a bad place to pick up some decent brews if you’re in the area. There’s nothing too exotic, but good decent local brews and some of the newer offerings that have hit the area. Friendly staff. I managed to find something that I haven’t tried yet, and that always makes me happy.

JoshuaB | Nice little store. Decent selection of American micros, mostly regional. A couple of Belgians I havent seen either. Lots of singles, especially seasonals it seems. Nice glasswhere. I basically echo the below comment. Worth a shot.

arjoseph | On my Crusades-like quest to find Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, I stumbled upon this place. At first glance, I thought I might be in luck, but they didn’t have any (they had the Demolition, another GI "Special Reserve," instead). What they did have was a nice selection of singles and sixers of regional beers and other craft brews, nothing too rare or special, but fairly comprehensive. I was also impressed that they had the new Sam Adams Utopia available, as I didn’t see it down the road in Glen Ellyn’s Binny’s. As a bonus, they have a section with glassware and pariphenalia, mostly for Guinness or the macros, but some widely available imports as well (like Celebrator, etc.) They also have a deli with food that I didn’t sample. Great local store, but you can find better in the suburbs if you’re willing to drive.
