22 reviews for Friar Tuck Wines, Spirits, and Beverages (Peoria)
drewsayles (1), , does not count - explanation | | April 27, 2009 [ Updated May 19, 2009 ] I’m pretty new to the beer world, but from what I’ve run across Friar Tuck seems to be the best place to buy micro brews in the area. Their selection is huge and they have a great international selection but it’s predominantly domestics here. As a new comer I was somewhat overwhelmed with their selection and my only gripe is that there was no one around to get advice or suggestions from. As far as price goes they are very reasonable, but I do wish they would bump there mix-a-six price down from $9.99. In my opinion overall a great place for the beer lover. | | GranvilleTim (14), Granville, Illinois | | February 10, 2009 [ Updated October 7, 2009 ] Wanted to try St. Bernardus Abt 12 for awhile, and saw that they where the closest place for me to purchase it. They have a vary nice selection of beers, including 50 + Belgians, lots of other foreign imports and American craft beers. I met the manager and he was very friendly and knowledgable about the beers they had. The waitstaff was also friendly. Worth the trip.
Always make sure you check the date on the beers. They can tend to sell old beer that has left its peak years ago. | jmw141 (9), Canton, Illinois does not count - explanation | | June 23, 2008 [ Updated February 16, 2009 ] Great selection of craft brews. Prices are reasonable and the staff is helpful. Some of the stuff might be older, but you aren’t going to find a better selection anywhere near peoria. | hillfiiiiire (2), Madison, Wisconsin does not count - explanation | | May 19, 2008 I drop in here whenever I’m driving through Peoria to see what’s new. The selection is pretty solid, just a huge aisle of beer and a walk-in cooler area. They also have some homebrew supplies. If you find the right staff, they know plenty about beer. Today, I managed to do that and ended up with a free sample while sitting around talking beer. If you’re anywhere near Peoria, you should definitely stop in. | | Illini08 (34), Raleigh, North Carolina | | May 2, 2008 Was here quite some time ago, just getting around to doing some place ratings. Not unlike any other Friar Tuck that I’ve been to. As always, you have to watch out for how old beer is that’s on the shelves at Friar Tuck | | WabashMan (23), Noblesville, Indiana | | October 12, 2007 A big selection, but not really too adventurous, unfortunately. And they won’t let you buy singles of 12 oz bottles, except a few that can be made into a mixed six pack, and those are only the beers that are about $8/six pack. | | doubelknv3 (22), Illinois | | March 8, 2007 Great beer selection and they keep my tapper running at home with decent keg selection. Cheers, | | barleyPops (58), Quad-Cities, Illinois | | February 12, 2007 stopped in here a few weeks ago after eating at Avanti’s. decent selection, but some of the prices were a bit high. worth an occasional stop. | | SubstanceT (114), Saint Louis, Missouri | | January 30, 2007 As for a friar tucks (try holding your tounge and say that) it is pretty much par. Big selection and lots of stuff just sitting there for who knows how long. | jew02 (5), Peoria, Illinois does not count - explanation | | January 2, 2007 Good selection of six packs, twelve packs and singles of non-mainstream beers. Seemingly good selection of wine and a good selection of liquor. Staff seems knowledgable on everything that I have asked of them. |
