pumpkinheart (9), Aurora, Illinois does not count - explanation | | April 10, 2008 As the name suggests, this is primarily a wine and cheese shop. The ladies who run this store do, however, appreciate good beer. They stock about 15 or 20 micros (Victory, Unibroue, Left Hand, Two Bros., etc.) and Euros (Stiegl, HB, St. Feuillien, etc.) and have a beer tasting once a month. They also have a Beer of the Month Club that is only $9.99 per month, three bottles each of two beers. Not necessarily someplace that someone who only drinks beer should go out of their way to find, but nice if you also like wine, cheese and friendly staff while in Plainfield. | | kseecs16 (94), Westmont, Illinois | | January 9, 2008 I have been here for a wine and beer tasting. Nice little wine shop as the others said. Helpful staff, but not at all beer oriented. I imagine they may improve as time goes on, and perhaps expand their collection. | | lovemyipas (12), sw burbs, Illinois | | January 9, 2007 basically what everybody else said its a wine and cheese store. yes there are some seasonals and a couple of others that you will not find in the area. and the staff does know there stuff but when they were looking to expand they should have expanded there beer section. and there a little pricey as well. | Tubbfan (1), Joliet, Illinois does not count - explanation | | June 12, 2006 My wife has a subscription to the wine-of-the-month club, so I’m in this place often. It is not a beer place, but I’m not as critical as Cornfield. I’ve found beers there I’ve found nowhere else IN THE AREA. I’ve never been to Binny’s or Armanetti’s. They have a monthly beer tasting. That’s more than I can say for many places. Don’t go there looking for anything rare. | | Cornfield (138), Oak Forest, Illinois | | May 3, 2006 THIS IS NOT A BEER PLACE AND NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENTERED! Very quaint, but it’s about wine & cheese as the name clearly states. Which explains why the proprietors (nice people) know little about beer. Probably not twenty brands here, and NONE OF THEM RARE as was entered here. No crap, but nothing rare. I suspect this place was entered as an ad. |
